Opinions on these rims...

Looking at some rims and I like the look of the black with lip on the red FD. Price (low) is important. Weight is also an important factor.

I found these on Tire Rack and I'm looking for some opinions.

Here is my current rim setup. Rims for sale by the way!

Save your money for a better set of quality wheels, buying cheap wheels usually means less quality and your prone to cracking or bending a rim. Save a bit more and buy some used volks or works.

buying cheap craptastic wheels is never the answer. you dont need to go nuts and get a set of bbs but at least get something decent like fn's or (good)enkeis, still cheap.

I have always been partial to SSRs, they have a simple design and are very light but are a little pricey but I'm looking for a set.

The ones I have are O.Z. Racing Superleggas. I don't know the exact weight, but that series is very light. The rims appear to be brand new as there is not a scratch or nick on them.

Wow thanks! I actually prefer the #4 and #5, they even look similar to the SSR design and they are light. Great recommendation!

I'm thinking about the hyper black 17x8 front and 19x9 rears.

What offsets should I get?

I think it looks cool!

Yes, watching TV and on the phone while surfing the internet is not a good idea. I want 17s all around, the only difference is the width.

Also are these 5zigen's good. Never had any.

Bump on the 5zigen question. Anyone have any feedback on these? Quality?

Ask me in a few months. I'm hoping to have a set 17x9/10 set by mid summer.

Since most of the forum has been buying 5zigen over the last 2 years... If they were crap, you'd already know.

5zigen had a reputation for heavy rims in the past. If you look at my vBgarage link, I have 5zigen Typhoons which are not a "lightweight" rim. 5zigen has over the past few years created some lighter wheels while retaining good strength. However, they still have that stigma of "not being Volks" or any of the other so-called uber rim manufacturers.

I am not a rim snob and I'm not building a show car. I am looking for performance. Yes, I love BBS, but I have two mortgages and three car payments. Besides, all rims will eventually get chipped, scraped, or otherwise damaged. At least inexpensive rims are easier and cheaper to change out.

In the 17's what offsets do you recommend?

Width?

Well, you are preaching to the choir there...

If you look at the pictures in my vBgarage, those are 17x9 +43 all around with 255's. So, it really depends on the look you want and or the amount of rubber you want to run. I also have some Work Equips at 17x9 and 17x10 +47 all around which I'm thinking about getting some tires for this summer. I'll probably run 255 and 275.

I think the Pro Racer Zr 520 look pretty good also. 17x9's should give you that concave look also.
