This is why you don't use a "-" as a spacer like some dumbass did.
All you did was manage to confuse other people more.

I think it's pretty much an unwritten standard to denote NEGATIVE offset with a "-" and then # (in mm).
Same goes with a POSITIVE offset with a "+" and then # (in mm).
If there are no signs (i.e. - or +) prior to the offset #, it's assumed it's POSITIVE offset.

Can you bitches all get on the same page for once?

well, i was gonna start the game but i dont have time... so off the top of my head i know that

-Daton offers "negative" offsets... but they called them "reversed" (thx for them lowriding days)

-Works, YES!!!

-hero(not the USA bling, but the real japanese "Deamon Cambers", im sitting on them now, but theyr not negs), are a YES

-some are missing in your list... (im not picking on you, and yes their are over a million rim manufactures... including mine[long story, and no we didnt offer negs])

-ADR, MOMO, Borbet, Enkei, suc... im gonna leave that one alone

-Speedline, Cragar, are all "FACE" no "LIPS"

-Centerline, boyds wanabes(and boyds offfer low offsets, but non neg from what i remember)

-and all the VIP wheels offer negs... (Junction Produce, Wald, Auto Couture, etc)

...thats just off the top, but their are a few rear gems laying around, bent the f@^K up, or sitting on some trailer queens...

Will I need overfenders? Will it fit?
Assume coilovers:

Front: 17 x 8.5, +38 or 17 x 9, +44
Rear: 17 x 9.5, +38 or 17 x 10, +44

i believe that the 38 wil fit without over fenders.. but the 44 i believe wil require spaces because of back spacing

Depends on the coilovers and tire size, but I'd be doubtful that even the 8.5 will fit, the 44 would definetely need spacers. If a decent tire size is run you'll at very least need to roll the fenders.

then you mess up the scrub radius if your wheels are too far out.....

I'm just trying to keep my outside edge of my tire 1/4 inch away from the fender lip.

While keeping the scrub radius the same is a good idea, it's just not possible with wider wheels and tires. For instance an 8" wide 35mm offset wheel using a 225 wide tire is really, really close to the suspension. Going to a higher offset will give you contact. A 17x8 30mm offset wheel and a 225/45/17 fits really nicely in front.

That's also a totally BS statement about RWD cars should use 30mm or lower offsets. That's totally not true, it's irrelevant as to what axle drives the car when it comes to offsets, all that matters is the suspension and fender geometry. The FD for example comes stock with a 50mm offset, and to fit the most rubber under the fenders you need to keep the offset as close as possible to that. The hardcore track guys are mostly using 18x10 50mm offset wheels in order to get their 285/30/18's under stock fenders.

scrub radius is bullshit. it makes absolutely no difference in anything, unless maybe you have manual steering and are trying to turn the wheels at a stand still...
