We can't answer your questions unless you give up wheel widths.
Widths and offsets go hand-in-hand.

ted, I have not insulted anyone on the internet since I was like 16 years old. the only people insulting anyone is you and black91n/a and all the other ignorant people that get sooooo and worried about the way we like to fit tires that they feel the need to complain about it and tell us we're stupid or whatever. I could care less if someone agrees with me or not.

if you guys didn't start arguments, there wouldn't be any, and NOONE would get insulted or offended.

so maybe you need to re-think what you're saying and look at who's really causing the problems here.

the simple answer is this one...
+35 to +25 would work on an FC.

the closer to +25 you get the more you want to think about a little negative camber and a fender lip roll

lol, a lot of these arguments start with discussions where people leave out the specifics...

he is rolling on stock fenders. meaning they have not been replaced with aftermarket fenders. YES he has rolled the inner lip, so it is not stock as it came from the factory but it is still a stock part, get the idea here? it was not a store bought upgrade, although it was slightly modified. its really a moot point, you seem bent on getting people to believe streteched setups are incredibly dangerous but I do not think they are... its a quick judgement that will let you believe they are unsafe but after using these setups people have had no bad experiences and some people choose it time and time again for low cost of tires, proper balance of handling, light and nimble feel and stiff sidewalls for direct feedback.

everybody is different but I dont get why some of you harp and harp and harp on the stretch setups, there here to stay and its not as dangerous as you think...

Yeah, I guess you're the only one taking happy pills in here huh...
Sorry, if I wanted to laugh, I go to The Lounge.

What actually gets under my skin is all you ****'s claim it's safe and okay to run tires like that, cause you've done it already.
Who died and made you the experts on tire sizing ABOVE the tire manufacturers themselves?
Bullshit.
Period.

And don't start this don't-mod-your-car-cause-you-need-to-leave-it-stock bullshit, cause that argument don't fly either...

Why would you want to run heavier wheels (cause of the excessive widths) for the same tire widths?
That's just detrimental to performance, period.

does that get your panties in a twist... does that really make you mad.... cuz to me it's really funny... it's actually a big joke... for you guys to get soooo angry over what we do...

i didn't directly call him a "tool" i guess i just applied that he was...

and on a "TECH" note.... yes the wheels on my car in my sig should not be used for any type of "performance".... those are strictly my demo wheels... cuz they're blingy and show well... for competition setup i run Volk TE-37's, if you've heard of them, they're quite light and come in good offsets... i'm running 17x10+18 front w/ 20mm spacer (effectively -2 offset) and 18x10.5+15 w/20mm spacer (effectively -5 offset) with 235/40/17 front and 275/35/rear... so when it comes to performance i know a bit about that too... even though it may seem like i just go for the look... but why sacrifice looking cool to perform well... you really don't have too...

Its funny how you guys pick fights with people who actually drive

Riiiiight, calling me a tool is trying to keep it light hearted?! Ted's not the only one you offended with that comment. I never called you names, all I said is that what you're doing is stupid. Restorting to name calling is a clear sign that you're LOOSING the argument, because you can't think of anything intelligent to say.

Say I survived falling out of a plane without a parachute because I landed in a snow bank or something, does that make it safe for me to do? No, and that's the same line of reasoning you're using.

BTW, camber is a handling tuning tool, a tool to even out tire loads, and should not be used to get tires under the fender, unless you want to replace them all the time because of the massive camber wear. Sure camber can be used that way, and a wrench can be used to hammer in a nail, but that doesn't mean that that's their purposes or that it's a good idea to use them in that way. That's what I meant by that and if you don't understand that then how can you profess to be such an expert who knows better than all the tire companies?! Why not just get wheels that fit, or get fenders to fit those wheels? That's way cheaper in the long run.

daved70: I drive my car every day and I've had it on track for a total of 9 days now since I've got it. I'm in the advanced intermediate group. Here's a picture to prove it. Notice how the tires actually fit on the wheels?

...you're a tool...
"You're" = contraction of "you are" - "you" denotes the person you are talking to, which is, in this case = Black91n/a; "are" denotes equivalence or equality

"a tool" - noun for which you are implying equivalence or equality with the person denoted, which is, in this case, Black91n/a

–noun 1. the state or fact of being equivalent; equality in value, force, significance, etc.
2. an instance of this; an equivalent.

actually i said: "i was going to mention you're a tool as well, but " right... are you really still nit picking this... you're not only the fcpro, but now the engrishPRO... great job bud!! i'm glad you're amounting to something.. it's funny, cuz i thought everyone from Hawaii was cool, well everyone i had met so far... thanks for ruining the streak..

Mr. M.E. i'm sorry i hurt your feelings, but i'm glad that advanced intermediate thing is working out for you... looks like you're really driving hard!! keep it up! and don't get too big of wheels, they might slow you down..

as for worrying about tires and their wear... i don't really care.. i drift, therefore i BURN through tires... so a little camber wear is no big deal... anyway, we're still talking about my street car.. it's not setup for 4th gear entries, or really going fast at all... on the other hand my green car has seen top of 4th gear entries sideways (D1 las vegas) and countless track days... it has blah blah blah blah blah... i'm so over this ****... i'm talking to doods that barely see the track and hope that one day someone will say hey, nice car!!

Ted, i actually use to respect you... you do have a lot of good input for a lot of people... but you don't know everything... especially about what's new to the automotive scene... if you would just shut your mouth for a minute and open your mind you'd be a much better person.. drifting and stretched tires is here... embrace it or ignore it... parent your own kids.. don't try to parent others... you lose peoples respect that way... and make yourself look not like an FCPRO

say what you will, i'll never change your narrow minded thought, just as you'll never convince me that you're an FCPRO... not by your knowledge, but your demeanor

i really wish there were more cool rx7 owners.

I can replace my dented worn out wrench every week, but that still doesn't mean I should be using it as a hammer...

I'll only say one more thing on this subject. From what I've seen as of late, the pros generally aren't stretching tires, and if they do it's nowhere near this much. So say it all you want that it's for drifting, but the truth is it's all about style (well, what you think is stylish anyway), otherwise the pros would be doing it too.

Ah...this is like revealing an insight to what you are thinking.
I get it.
You're going to get off on a technicality, cause you were just thinking it, but you never, technically, said it.
Good for you!

I'm thinking you're an *******, but because I never said it explicitly and only though about saying it...I never really said it.

I guess this is how we get around breaking the forums rules, huh?

you're not only the fcpro, but now the engrishPRO... great job bud!! i'm glad you're amounting to something.. it's funny, cuz i thought everyone from Hawaii was cool, well everyone i had met so far... thanks for ruining the streak..
Oh, did I mention I'm going back to school as an English major?
Funny how many people in the U.S. lack a clear grasp of the English langauge.
That would make you a perfect example.

I never said I was cool.
I never said all people from Hawaii are cool.
I run into ******** down here everyday.
In fact, I think the ratio of ******** to non-******** favor the ******** by a significant amount.
So, I don't understand how you came to that conclusion.
I'm a royal ******* to anyone who comes at me with such an attitude.
Make the logic connection...

**** it.
I'm tired of seeing your boro FC, so you're ignored.

unicorn squad? got any pics of how much lock your car has.. looks like heaps in the first pic...
looks much more than my car (i am only running supernow rack spacers)...? did you modify the knuckles?

after looking at your car i want to run 18s up front .. looks like ill stick to my 17s for now though... how close do they get to your sway bar, etc on lock? must be close...

my cars offsets are 17x9 +12 up front ... totally stock guards.. w/ 215/40s ...
34gtr wheels up back 18x9 +30 (need some spacers)...

but i have en route from japan a set of AVS wheels 18x10 +19 all round... not sure if they will fit up front .. but they should fit awesome on the back...

will a 17x8 +45 (225/40/17) with a 10mm spacer look flush on the front?

also i read somewhere (while searching! lol) that cusco makes adjustable top mounts (like coilovers have) but im not sure if those are strictly for coilovers or shock/spring setups aswell...

whats your definition of flush?

imo anything greater that +32ish will not fit on the front... my 17x8 +35s i used to run on the front required a 5mm slip on spacer to clear the coilies...

i have a set of cusco camber tops floating around if you want them ... moved up to supernow tops myself

My 17x8's are a 30mm offset, and with 225/45/17's there's not much room at all between them and the stock suspension, and the coilovers didn't really gain me anything either. They're pretty flush, and don't ever rub on stock unrolled fenders. Go closer in and you risk rubbing the spring, go further out and you risk rubbing the fender. Get wheels that fit.
