What do you guys think of this:

5Zigen ProRacer GN+
17x9.5F +12 under mariah fenders giving me a 5.7" backspace with 265/40
17x9.5R +22 6.1" backspace with 265/40 as well. Tires will be falkens 451's.

Sounds like one badass set-up if they fit. What do you guys think?

go lower offset if not bigger over all. with only a 7J you could do around a -15 offset no problem... cool dish wide stance... small wheel...

or you could take a 9J and put 215s on it and it would look much better...

the mariah fenders can clear much lower offset in the front. space it down to 0 offset. Rear sounds nice though

The only problem is that these wheels are only offer in a +12 as the lowest offset

get a space.... no they are not bad...

and yet they will work... you can go with lower offsets for better fitment though

Check to make sure the arm that attaches your lower ball joint to the control arm is not bent. I just bought a FC a few months ago that had the same problem...ahem...among many others. BTW, if it is bent you can buy a pair from ebay for $50 or since I only used one you can buy the other from me for $25

Also, I just bought a set of protege 5, 5 spokes with tires for $250...They are 16x6 with 195/50 tires...It looks like the offset is +50 . I assume I should get some 10 or 15 mm spacers. Does anyone know where I can get some hubcentric spacers? I can't find squat.

That will fit without spacers, but you sure the bolt pattern is the same?

ok...Test fitted the drivers front wheel today, The bolt pattern is correct and the wheels seem to clear the suspension but....I really can't tell without lowering the car. Here's the Hitch: The hub on my 7 is aparrently slightly larger than the hub of a protege... I can put the wheel on the hub but, it can't make it on like the last 1-2mm. The hole that the hub should go into on the wheel is slightly too small. I think I'll have to get:
1. hubcentric spacers and have them milled to the correct size
or
2. cheapo plain spacers
or
3. the wheels milled to the correct size
or
4. different wheels

Any suggestions/ideas?.....easy fix? --->lol, yeah right.

Ok I finally bought some rims, hope they fit and if not I will make these fit because I really like these. They are Enkei racing s rims 17x7.5+35 in the front and 17x8+35 in the back, now my question is which size and brand tires would you guys recommend for these? I was thinking some 225/45 in the front and some 235/45 in the back, remember these are for a 86 sport with a 1in. drop all around

I've read quite a bit of this thread and it seems this should work, but just to be sure, will this setup be fine?

Front: 17x8 +25mm 225/45/17
Back: 17x9 +20mm 255/40/17

I plan on dropping the car about 1" in the future with stock fenders.

Thanks in advance.

You should have bought the whole wheel......not just the rim.

I found an amazing deal on some two-piece wheels here in town. They are 17x8 all around with an offset of, I believe, to be about 31mm (I found this from measuring the space from the inside edge of the rim to the bolt holes to be ~1.25" and converted that to mm). I plan on running these with a 255 in the rear and 235 in the front. How will that front wheel fit?

The rears might get a little close to the fender lip, but nothing a little fender rolling won't fix.

I'm going back later to remeasure the offset. The guys there told me +25mm but I think it is closer to +30mm. Will I have trouble with the +25mm?

Sorry for the repost; I just want to be sure before I put money down and carry them home.

I hate when people say they just bought some "RIMS".
A rim is the outer most PART of a wheel.

Now if you live in the ghetto.......then nice RIMS DOG!
