I managed an awesome deal on a set of BBS RS wheels a couple of weeks ago. Before I get down and dirty cleaning them, I was wondering if they'd fit with little problem. Fronts are 16x7 +24 and the rears are 16x8 +24.
I've considered replacing a couple of lips with a 2inch replacement, which should change the 7" to 16x8 +12. If I went that route, would the new offset fit without much issue? I'd really rather square up the wheels instead of staggered and stretch is only an option as a last resort. So, will they fit?

In the market for new tires, looking for something is more sporty but good for DDing and handles well in the rain. Also trying to decide on a size, currently running a 225/45 on a 17x8 +35 all around (the car is on coilovers) but I was thinking about going wider. Thoughts?

Hey guys,
I'm looking at getting a set of Rays VR-x10s.
Front: 17x8 +6
Rear: 17x9 +12
Tyres: 235/45 all round.
Just wondering if they'll fit the guards with those offsets? I've got Tein HA coilovers if that helps.

Yeah I knew I'd clear the suspension, but its the guards i'm worried about.
Will I need to roll the whole thing or just knock out the inside of the guards?

You're trying to fit as much rubber under the fenders as you can, so obviously you're going to have to actually put them on to see how much rolling it will take.

picked up some rims... oh god
Okay so I put $400 dollars on a set of enkei RSV 18"x7.5" with a +45 offset. Unfortunately for me I could have sworn I read 18" x 8.5" with a +35 but... now I have a $400 deposit for a some rims that I'm hoping to god will at least fit. I work at a shop and can basically play around with tire sizes until one clears the coilovers well enough but my question is will these rims be giving me problems? Will the even fit? I pick them up Saturday but want to know what to expect when I go to test fit them on the car. I don't care if they're close but I want something to drive on until I put a five lug hub on. Thanks in advance all.

I wanna say that they'll fit but my math seems a little weird... Here's what I'm figuring.
WE know that an 18"x8.5" with a +30 will fit.
There are 25.4 mm in an inch
That means that 8.5" is 215.9mm (half is 107.95mm)
7.5" is 190.5mm (half is 95.25 mm)
so the +30 on the 8.5" is a total of 137.95mm from the hub to the inner rim.
and the +45 on the 7.5" is a total of 140.25mm from the hub to the inner rim.
That's equivalent to a difference of only 2.3 mm further inwards and some people have stated that they run 18.5" x 8.5" with a +35 offset which is 142.95mm from the hub to the inner rim. Taking the difference between the +30 and +35 on the 8.5" width rim would be 140.45mm for their average which would still mean that the 7.5" width with a +45 offset would fit.
If all my math is correct, the tire width will have to be kept to a minimum on the front or the strut towers may have to take some grinding and polishing.
... I know it's a lot of math but here's what it comes down to if my math and understanding are even remotely correct about rim sizing.

If you're running stock style struts (not coilovers), then you might need a spacer to clear the larger dia. coils in the spring. Other than that it should fit without a spacer as you have calculated. A spacer would make the car look better though, but you'll need longer studs for >5mm.

Ifigured I'd run a 5-10 mm spacer all around and change out all the studs with the same amount increase. I'm running the stock struts with an inch lower and stiffer springs so I'm thinking a 7 or 8 mm spacer and stud change would be perfect to run until I change the hubs/brakes. Thanks for the input on my math.

Im wanting to go for as close to flush as possible without spacers. I will be rolling the fenders and will have coilovers for this as well. I tried reading through this thread but theres too much going on and too many opinions lol. My mind is spinning right now.

Looks that way, but the aspect ratio (the middle value) is just a percentage. This value is multiplied to the treadwidth (the first value) to get the sidewall height.
.40x255 = 102mm sidewall
.45x225 = 101.25mm sidewall
Sidewalls are practically the same. Hope that helps.
