My RPF1s are shipping out sometime this week, I'm might go ahead and get a 5mm spacer for the front 17x8 225/45/17 to be on the safe side of things. What spacer do you guys recommend?
Also with the 17x9 rpf1 in the rear could I go to 265 or 275, at what point would I need to replace or roll the fender.

Check to see if they fit before you waste money on spacers. 35mm offset on a 8" wide wheel running a 225/45-17 is a close fit, and for some it works, some need a small spacer.
265 tires in 17" is an odd ball and the overall tire height gets taller were the 255/40 is already just a tad taller then stock. A 275 is pretty tall and will look buldged out / balloonish on a 9" wide wheel, but it'll work. You wouldn't need any rolling/pulling running any of the tires mentioned on a 17X9 35mm offset. Keep in mind stagger too. The larger differentual from front to rear will cause more understeer. Some of this can be dialed out with alignment and shock settings, but once you get too big of a stagger under steer becomes a problem, unless you like to just go fast straight.

You shouldn't need fender rolling or anything (depends on the car and the tire manufacture/model). Most run 225/45-17 wiht no problems at all, so you should be fine. Again, you *might* need a 5mm spacer for the FRONT only, no need for it in the rear. Buy the rims and tires and test fit it. Your clearance issues if any at all will be your tire and you front spring and or spring perch. So test fit it, if theres a clearance issue, then buy a 5mm spacer. Rears will bolt right on no problems or spacers.

Well I figured only sure way to find out is to have them put on. They fit nicely probably about a fingers width between the shocks and tire. Doesn't seem to be any rubbing signs on the tire. I'll keep checking after every drive just to make sure.

hey guys, im lookin to get an FD3 soon, so I was checkin out some rims for it, would these rims work on that car? I plan on getting Megan Racing Coilovers as well..
the fronts are 18x8 with either a 35mm or 40mm offset
the backs are 18x9 with a 45mm offset

Does anybody know if 16"x8J , ET40 with 225/50 tires fit in the rear without rubbing the struts? (stock suspension and camber settings) I know the ET value is a bit high for 8J but the rims I like don't come with a lower one.
I think it will come down to tire more than anything but i've run that setup before a FC:
17x8 +40 with 225/45/17, same tire diameter. stock style struts.
Coilovers, you would need a 10mm spacer for the 8" wide wheel to work imho.

That probably won't fit, the Tanabe springs give less clearance than stock, so with a setup that'd already be very, very close with stock springs, it almost certainly won't fit with those springs.
not so sure about the inner clearance since i can fit about a peice of paper between the wheel and the coils, but as far as fender clearance you'd need to AT LEAST roll the fenders. probably a small pull too.
