New suspension finally going to be installed...

Ok so my friends all got together and bought me KYB adjustables and Tanabe lowering springs for my FC.

What strut mounts should I get? Would new stock ones be alright? What other alternatives are there out there??

i have tein camber plates that i purchased with my KYB AGX and eiabch setup. they go for about $180 for the front pair and another $180 for the rear, but i have just the fronts. they are sweet and add a nice touch to the engine bay. you can adjust both camber and caster(not sure about spelling).

heres the link

Do those tein camber plates have the correct shaft hole size for stock type struts like the Kyb's ,tokico's,oem shocks?

So what are the camber and caster plates for?? I guess I don't have a very good understanding of all of the suspension quite yet. I know I want sway bars, strut tower bars, and to redo the bushings in the rear end... but that's all later down the road.

I eventually want to go all out and do everything so it's as stiff as possible...

What else am I missing??

to the best of my knowledge they do have the correct shaft hole size. They fit my KYB AGX's like a beauty. and my friend has these on his stock shock setup, so they must fit.

camber adjusts the angle the wheel is set, there is negative and positive, and caster gives the car a toe in/toe out setting. on my car i had to get the fronts because of an accident involving the front hub assembly/control arm, and stock the car didnt have enough adjustable camber setting to get it back to normal, so i bought the teins. after a proper alignment they were able to set everything back to normal without issues.

wheel alignment has three axis
camber (angle as seen from the front of the car)
caster (angle as seen from the side of the car)
toe (angle as seen from the top of the car)

camber is controlled by aftermarket camber plates. cars gain negative camber when they are lowered. alot of lowering requires alot of adjustment to bring it back into spec. hence, camber plates. camber plates also make your ride a bit harsher, however. not really necessary in your case, imo.

caster is usually controlled by some sort of adjustable t/c rod. i don't know what the deal is on rx7s though. caster controls camber change during turning.

toe is controlled by the tie rod on the front. cars gain toe-in during lowering. factory setting is usually a bit of toe in (i.e. front wheels pointing at each other very slightly) for stability. excessive toe in will chew up tires. that's the main reason you get an alignment after lowering.

with the mild drop eibach's give you, you should be fine as long as you get an alignment after you install them. re-align toe to stock and you'll be good. you'll gain a little bit of neg camber, but no biggie. enjoy!
