Need some help picking a 17" inch tire size "DRIFT LOOK"

Ive noticed and really like the way some of you guys have stretced tires on ur
rx7's "aka drift look'. i have 17x 7.5 rims and wondered is there a certain size, tire brand, or width to get this look? does the rim need to be only a RWD rim, and does it need to have a large lip? the lip on my 17's is about 2 1/2 inch maybe 3". please any help would be great looking to order my tires asap.

here some pics of what i mean by drift look

stretched tires are for wide rims like 9 inches wide plus with low offsets. This way they clear fenders without rubbing otherwise no point really.

You will need wider wheels than 7.5 to stretch.

Look on some older VW's if you want to see some insane stretching. 195's on 10" wide wheels etc. etc.

A 195 tire will give you that Phat Mad Tyte JDM Dorifto Cooler Ranch look. Put a 195 size tire on there and that will be a good stretch for you. Or you could just put a 225 like you're supposed to and spend money on suspension to get that response feel you're looking for.

You should be smacked around the head for using the words "drift look". You should also be smacked around the head for wanting such a retarded looking wheel/tyre combo.

wtf is a drift look? I dont mean to flame, you need wider than 17x7.5 + 25 offset or less. with that you might need a fender roll, + it might not fit on stock suspension.

DAM ALL THESE HATERS!!! anyways i just asked a question. as for drift look i figured it would be the easiest way to explain what i was asking. and the reason for the stretched tire question is so that i can fix a clearence issue.

I TOUGHT THE FOURM WAS TO ASK QUESTIONS AND GET SOME KNOWLEDGE NOT GET HATED ON FOR MY OPINION.

Yeah sorry we try to filter out stupidity and automotive fads/trends of stupidity. If you want to squeeze an itty bitty tire on a wide rim so you can be JDM, you go right ahead buddy, but all those JDM points aren't going to do **** to help you be a better driver or make your car any faster orr even in this case, cooler looking. So go ahead and go do that while all the TRUE automotive enthusiasts (rotary or non) laugh at you

Someone answered your question anyway. Go to the wheel section, this is 2nd gen specific, whereas we have a wheel and tire forum. Gee.

Do it the right way and buy wheels with the right width and offset for your car.

Do you really think if you post about doing something most people here think is stupid that you're just going to be ignored?

If you want the tires to line up with the fenders you need the right offset on the rim!! I made that mistake, not getting the right offset when I bought mine. Now I need to get spacers, but not really a fan of spacers myself.
