Street: full soft (why beat yourself up?)
Autox: depends on the course, but I typically end up full hard or within a half turn of full hard on the front and either full soft or maybe up to a half turn on the rear. This is with stock springs, stock front bar and 245/45/16 on all four corners; I bet when I go to a stiffer front bar I end up taking some shock out of the front.
Can't comment on any others at the moment.

Speaking of Koni's, how does each notch lower the car on either end? I know its 5mm and 10mm up front and 5mm, 10mm and 15mm on the rear, but I figure that since the end of the shock does not mount to the end of the arm, the end result would be lower then the notches.
How hard is it to change notches once the the shocks are mounted?
Or I guess I'll get off my lazy *** and finish the install one of these days...
TIA!

Changing ride height means pulling the struts. You have to use a spring compressor and there is not enough room in the fenders to do it with the struts mounted. Again, I know from experience because after I wore through the front liners in one day at the track and I got to yank them out that night and raise the perches back to stock.

I and two of my buds have the Koni's on full drop with no rubbage, and I have stock tires (other with 18's). I DID get rubbage after the body shop took out the fenderwell liner and reinstalled incorrectly, with that wiring harness not clipped in properly!!!! If you're rubbing through to it like I did, check and make sure that stuff's up in there correctly.
Also, I Do Not run full soft even on the street as I have bottomed out the car before (Shouldn't happen right? Right... but then, do you always drive like grandma?) I've found a little off of full soft is much safer. Right now I'm running half a turn all the way around and it handles well, with a bearable ride.

im at home and installed the KONIs
put on 1 full turn all around and on full hard (only 2 settings ive tried) i can hear the air coming out when the shock compresses. its a very quick psh or almost like a squish sound. just wondering if this is normal or not.
thanks

I recently broke my rear passenger side koni shock twice. I have GC coil overs on my car and rims with slight offset difference from the recommended FD offset of 35mm i believe. I first broke the rear passengerside shock off of a tiny bump in the road then i bought another koni shock, and it broke 1 weeks after i put it on. The car was lowered the first time and raised to stock height the second time the shock broke. In both instances it was tiny bumps in the road (mini pothole) at 35-40mph. The koni perch where the GC coil over kit sits on broke right through in both instances. What could this be? Any ideas?
