Rishie, I'm pretty spur of the moment kind of guy and if you got an awesome price on these things, I'd be up for it. Especially after seeing my car strapped down on the dyno (lowered the car nicely).
Anyway - send me your price for a 94/rx7 to brent.gaynor@tazznetworks.com
Also can you let us know if the hood rubbing issue has been resolved?

i got one from him last week. No hood rubbing whatsoever. It did not even touch the liner...
Those guys have rubbing issue must have installed it wrong or so...

Reza,
can you explain how someone can install these things incorrectly??? There really isn't much to it
I don't think mine where installed wrong...maybe the newer versions (ones with the mounting bracket for the brake lines) sit lower...

BTW,
when I first installed it...the tops just BARELY touched the liner...
The only time it dented the hood was when the hood was dropped closed by a 5cent mechanic...
Since you are so confident...maybe you should drop close your hood as a "TEST" for the people who are waiting to buy them....

I did drop hoods to check for clearance. IT wasn't even close to the hood liner. Can you measure the length of the adjuster on yours. Say from teh top of the pillow ball nut to the very top of the adjuster.
I looked into this issue and could not find the problem. I'd like to isolate why yours is that way.
Thanks, Rishie

Wait a minute. Mine does not have that brake line mounting bracket.
7racer, maybe you can adjust the rubber spacer that hold the hood. If that is too low, then it may cause the hood to drop lower when dropped.
Rishie, are you selling me old stuff?

hmm...strange...
actually when I put mine in last week, that is what I am afraid off. So I took about an hour testing to see if it will make dents. I have always drop my hood from about 1 feet high. It has problem locking in when pushed in.
So the hood denting thing is important to me, but apparently it did not do it on mine.
Mine is a 1993 FD base. maybe the car differ slightly?

JIC doesn't have the brake line mounting "C" Clamp bracket that you typically would see on these types of coilovers. I will be sure to mention that to them. I've seen it on various other brands so I can't imagine it would be difficult to get a part to perform that function.
For safety purposes I will just see if JIC can change the adjuster length for the FD application altogether. No point in taking the risk. I've only looked at three FD's for this problem.
Those pics would be great. I will measure the distance on a set we have in stock and post the pics as well.
Reza, can you estimate the distance between the top of the adjuster "head" and your hood liner? I was able to look because there was no engine in this FD. lol. So I could get inside it basically.
Thanks, Rishie

probably about 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch.
But then the liner to hood is another 1/4 inch, since you can push the liner in alittle bit.
If you drop the hood the adjuster will hit the liner, but if I put down the hood and push to lock, it will not touch the liner. I don't think it will ever touch the hood it self.

Ok here are the pics...but after thinking about it...I think it hits due to variations in the hood. The reason is that my passenger side seems to rub the liner less...but still hits...
here is the passenger liner (see not indented alot)
Driver's liner
Picture of what my dent looks like
This is a measurement for the passenger stalk

And Finally, the driver's side that hit the hood

sorry about the one pic where the ruler is crooked...I think it makes the stalk look taller at 2 inch versus the passenger side...if you look at the base of the car to the bottom of the nut portion it is about 3/8ths of an inch on both the drivers and passengers side
