FD3S abs 3-4 channels swap

The improvements to the new RX-7 lineup, in general, include modifications to the brake and suspension systems to enhance driving performance and handling stability. The interior features an instrument panel with white meters, metal plated frame rings, and red illumination for a more sporty look. The reinforced side impact bars and ABS equipped with an EBD (electrically-controlled braking distribution) system for all four wheels enhance safety.

has anyone swap there old USD ABS w/ 99+ or 2002 spirit R 4 channel brake system, i heard feed or panspeed did the swap on an older model FD rx7 anyinfo would be great!!

Main Product Enhancements
Improved Braking Performance
- The ABS control unit for all four wheels has been upgraded from the conventional 8 to 16 bits and equipped with an EBD (electrically controlled braking distribution) system. This results in shorter stopping distances when the brakes are applied suddenly and enhanced vehicle stability.

I'd imagine that you'd need the 4-channel ABS computer, ABS hydraulic hardware, and sensors at all four wheels. Sounds like it could be a pretty involving and pricey swap.

ABS sensors won't be an issue. You may have problems integrating the various connectors to the other harnesses, which I think has been covered before for RHD cars, so the whole wiring shebang might be worth grabbing - if you have a hefty baggage allowance and are not into soldering.

There's two different looms running to the back depending on model as well...whether that's significant.

Could be entirely due to duff sensors...they're all second hand.....have found the all plastic late model ones test consistently at 1.6k ohm, whereas the earlier ones, with the stainless steel rings, seem to run 1.0k ohm or thereabouts. So you may need to take my earlier statement regarding the wheel speed sensors with a grain of salt if continuing on with this project.

A knowledgeable local FD spare parts guy reckons they interchange according to "the book" - they do plug in and bolt on - and it may just be an exceptional run of bad luck on my part.
