Falken Azenis & Falken Ziex - Differences?

On my FB I currently have a set of Falken Azenis 205 50 R15's and was looking to replace them soon, pretty warn down. I was looking at the Ziex ones and they are are a bit cheaper but I like how my Azenis perform well at launch, just wondering how the Ziex compares? Pros & cons on them? Thanks!

Depends what model ziex you get. 512 or 912, the 512's are junk, 912 are better but the azenis's are much better. Its worth the money. I sell the others daily and get a lot of customer complaints about them.

The Azenis will be a MUCH higher performance tire.

So Ziex 912 are pretty good but Azenis are much better. The thing is I feel like the Azenis wear down fast?

I'm really thinking about getting the Ziex 912's, is it gonna be a disappointment? I'm not really looking for performance right now.. just streetability.

I wouldnt say a disappointment, its not a bad tire. I would also look into some of the yokohamas or the Goodyear eagle GT. I get alot of good feed back from these. The yoks and Gy are just a bit more but alot better tires. Ride quality and what not

I see. Well I buy from discount tire direct on eBay cause they have insane prices. For a set of brand new Falken Azenis (4) 205 50 R15's is $350 with free shipping. I searched what other brands they offer for 205 50 15's but they don't have it in Yokohamas or Goodyear, only BFGoodrich, Hankook, Nitto, and Kumho. Any of those match up to the rest? If I go down from 205 to 195 I can get Yokohama S. Drive tires for $300 shipped.

With ziex you compromise dry grip for higher treadwear rating. I'm satisfied with them, but I'm not gonna say that they will give you uber traction during launch or hard cornering. Can't expect too much from an all season tire.

So then they probably are a good buy for now. I don't really need tires for uber traction during launch or hard cornering, just something that runs and feels good daily. Can't beat $300 with free shipping!

Ziex will do fine for just daily driving around. The Azenis is a MUCH more high performance tire.

Ziex does not have great traction, just good for rain use and good tread life.

ziex's are all seasons. they are not bad by any means. there are plenty of all seasons that are FAR worse. the bridgestone potenzas that came stock on my civic from honda were downright dangerous.

there are two types of azenis, RT615 and ST115.

the RT615 is the autocross tire. ST115 is basically a street summer tire with good wet weather grip.

if you want streetable falkens with a fair amount of grip then get ST115s. don't know if they come in 15" though.

I have the RT615's on the car right now. DTD doesn't have the ST115 in 15" only the RT615's.
