fd spring suggestions
currently i have koni yellows with pfs "comfort" springs and am running into some serious rubbing issues in front with my new wheels. the front wheels are volk gtn 17 x 8 w/ +41 offset wrapped in 245/45 17's. i noticed some rubbing last year on the fender liner under hard braking with the stock wheels and is now obviously much worse with the new wheel/tire combo. the car is driven on the street , dragstrip and i plan on getting more into autox/track events. i know coilovers would be the best decision, but i really don't want to drop another 1500 into it right now. i am leaning toward the rsr race springs since the drop is minimal and the higher spring rates, is anyone running these on the street, any other suggestions? i have rolled my fenders and will be switching to a 40 series front tire as well. tia-garrett

I've got the Petitt Eibach Track Pro springs, about 33% stiffer than stock, about a 1" drop front and rear, and they work great.
Check the Drop Spring Specs thread for lots of info on different brand springs and the rates of each.

i also forgot to mention that on the front my koni's are on the middle perch, i may raise that to the top one depending on what springs i get. the pfs springs were advertised as a 1.25 drop i believe, i'm not sure that going to a 1" drop will solve my problems?

If I were buying springs right now, the RSR Race Springs would be my choice. The drop is not overdone and the spring rate looks very good for AutoX/Road course driving. It might be a little rough on the street if that doesn't bother you.
I'm running the Tein S-Tech springs which are about the same spring rate with Tokicos. The S-Tech drop the car VERY low which is their only problem.

If you've already got the Koni Sports, the Ground Control coilover kit (threaded sleeves, springs, upper spring perch) is $600 for all 4 corners - not $1500. Don't know if that brings it into your price range or not, but you don't need to buy shocks twice.

Your tires are TOO TALL - you should be running 245/40-17, NOT 45's. The STOCK oem tire was 225/50-16, the "+0" size should be 245/45-16 (will fit on stock 16x8 rims) and the "+1" size should be 245/40-17 (fit on 17x8 or 17x9 rims)
