fc lateral acc. / skidpad measure

hey - i've searched to try and find what the highest measured skidpad a fc3s owner has achieved on this board. is anyone aware of this? i remember reading a motor-trend article in 1985 right before the fc was released which said it was the highest slalom speed and skidpad of any production streetcar they'd ever tested. it was like .86g or something at the time, an acura TL nowadays basically. i know the fd-R2 with race rubber hit 1.00g supposedly, but thats a completely diff. susp. setup. i'd think if both cars are setup in hard-street / mild-race tune, with similar tires, they'd get very similar numbers. the diff. would clearly be the more adaptable dynamics given the fd's refined designed (alum. doub. wishbone). so my question for the group is what have we seen the fc do? does anyone have any ideas about what it can do? how about a car with urethane, a bolt-in cage, coilovers, and some serious rubber.

86n/a chime in here...

skidpad testing has more to do with tires and less to do with suspension setup.

Not the end-all be-all of suspension tests.

roen - i completely agree - i was just trying to give my friend a reference in a discussion we were having about lateral acceleration since the 60s. does anyone have a number for a worked suspension, perhaps hard street / mild race setup?

I've pulled 1.15 according to dynolicious on my r-comps. Take it at what you will, and it was measured in a slalom, so the transition factor probably helps. Konis and 400/300 springs.

Get an accelerometer (or a buddy with an iPhone) and find out...

Way too many variables for it to be meaningful to anyone but the owner/driver.
