Angry can't get front stock shock out... advise needed.

today I tried to intall my konis yellows wrapped in eibachs pro kit. I got done with the back no problems, but when I tried to get the front drivers side strut out, I couldn't. I have tried for 3 HOURS and no luck . I can't get the bottom of the shock out of the lower shock mount. I banged on that f*cker with a hammer (and tried various other things) for 3 hours.

Has anybody had problems getting their shocks out? Any idea what I can do?

Did you remove the anti-roll bar?

no... I didn't think you had to, but after yesterday, it's clear that I have to try something else. on rob robinette's (spelling?) site he never removed the anti-roll bar, he just said that he smashed the shock with a mallet and it eventually came out.

also I'm wondering if steering the hub with the seering wheel will slightly release some pressure in the lower shock mount... we'll see .

well if you jack only one side of the car, the swaybar will be loaded, thus pushing the lower A arm up. try jack the whole front end up and unbolt the swaybar.

that was it! I only had one side jacked up... this morning I jacked both sides up and both front shocks came out with hardly any effort. I feel like an *** now, but its all done and the car drives looks amazing .
