17X9 +40 all around work?
Just curious to how well 17X9 +40 would fit all around. What tires would be the best? Would 18X9 +38 all around work? This for a FD. Thanks!

That 9" with +40 offset will really be pushing it up front. That wheel will stick out almost an entire inch towards the fender over stock. I wouldn't run that wheel with the typical lowering springs (Eibach, H&R), you will catch the fender lip too easily.
Definitely not on the 9" +38.

You can use those sizes with stiffer spring rates. If you went with 255/40/17 or 255/35/18 then you will end up with the exact same total diameter. They make a 245/35/18 too. I have 255/40's on 17x9.5 +40 with no rubbing but I have 900 lb/in springs. They stick out 2.9 cm from stock. http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/kil...evun/my_photos

Your ride height looks higher than mine with H&R Springs. I can barely place my index finger between the top of the tire, and the fender lip. I have 255/40-17 on 9 x 17, with 45-mm offsets all around Cool pics!

Yep, his car is WAY higher than mine (25" to fender, or 63.5 cm for our metric friends).
It's all about clearance margins. Can you run a 9" wide +40 wheel? Yes, but the clearance margin is next to nothing. You will have a lot more ease of driving with a higher offset wheel.

Basically I really like the RPM2's and wanted go to with the best overall setup. I've heard you can special order sizes, but the biggest the site has listed is 17x9 or 18x9.
Now, if I went 17x9 +40 in the back, what should I go for in the front? 17x8 +35 or +45? What are the biggest tires I can run on these wheels front and back?
Would you go 18" or 17"?
