Bump... Squeak Bump... Squeak

Everytime i hit somthing, wether its a cat... person... or those ocational bumps and dips on the road. My front and rear tires squeak, which sounds like plastic. I went to SCHWAB to get an quote. They said i need 2 Gas Strust Assembly, 2 Special Application Gas Shock Spring Seat, and of course the Alignment. I just wanted to get everyones views on this whomever is reading. Maybe also direct me to a site where i am able to buy these items online. I've checked http://www.modacar.com though i dont know every good rx7 parts site on the web. Thanks.

By squeak, it could be a number of things.

Are you 100% sure that it is the shocks/springs?

It could be the shocks/springs, but it could also be other things as well. Worn bushings which cause vibration. Loose body panels, etc.

Things just squeak w/ age.

Unfortunately, it is hard to diagnose this problem w/o hearing it.

Here is a question.

Are your shocks worn? If not, then it is not worth it to replace the shocks just because of squeaking.

You may have worn front sway bar bushings. I suggest that you take a look at them. Don't pull them apart, just take a peek. Squirt some lubricant all around them and drive the car. If the squeek stops, you know where the problem is.

When you hit a bump, and it's a person, you get extra points

Yes how are you sure that it is your tires?
i also have a pretty bad squeek in my car but it comes from the hatch and i havent gotten around to trying to locate/fix it yet. But the plastic sound definately seems very similar to my car.

I'm also guessing Shwaby boy was trying to make some money off me. Thanks for the tip though. I'll look at the sway bar, and tear my hatch apart to locate the problem. If i find out what it is, then I'll post it for ya Mean Machine.
