Ok i think i have a plum bob some where around here, or know someone with one.
Gracer do you have pics of your car from side profile? Id like to see how it looks ride height wise? What size tires. rims do you use?
Howard, what are you thoughts on tokico shocks? maybe with eibach springs?

Not handy. Ride height is about 25 1/4 to 25 1/2" all around give or take a couple of 8ths. I'll see if I can measure later.
wheels = 17x9 +45
tires = 255/40/17

If you decide on a shock/spring combo, use the Koni's. Why? Eventually, you are going not like the stance of the car on the springs (which is why I suggest just getting Tein Flex from the beginning), however the Koni's will at least give you a little bit of adjustment for the stance.
I ran the Tokico/Eibach combo for a while. The ride is good for the street but IMO is too soft for the track. On the softest Tokico setting, the car will be so soft it will bottom out on bumps on the street which feels good, but IMO doesn't feel like a "sports car".

Well there's always this custom setup I had Stance produce for us based on the info we gathered from Howard.
Valved and Stroked in such a manner that you can run 8/6 or 10/8

Not sure as too why i missed this thread for so long.I think I forgot that I posted it here. But I've done a lot of stuff since I started this thread. unfortunately I still have not figured out the main root of the problem with this car. I have since replaced everything except for the springs in the suspension. currently I have koni yellows on the lowest height setting and softest dampner setting and super pro poly bushings. I have also had the car corner balanced and re-aligned (found out the old guy was aligning it crooked). And I got rid of the adjustment valve for the power steering and got the turn one restrictor. The car is 1000 times better than it was when I got it but it still is not confidence inspiring. I still havent been able to get the caster adjusted due to the car is too low to fit in any of the alignment shops racks that are around me. ( I need a in ground rack whih there is not one around me.) I also havent been able to mess with the bump steer. ( I dont think I understand how to make my own kit howard sorry I cant visualize what you are trying to describe). I have however noticed something new that im sure is killing this cars handling. Even though the car balanced out and all settings in the koni yellows are the same my car is not level. It us easily 1 in higher on the passenger side than the driver side. Do you think my springs are my problem here? And if so since you cant get the eibach pro kit any more which springs would you recomend howard?

Do you think my springs are my problem here? And if so since you cant get the eibach pro kit any more which springs would you recomend howard?
Don't know what else is available, but Tire Rack has H&R springs for the FD, don't know what the rates are but I'm sure you could find out.

I'd remove them and see if the front/rear pairs have the same free length.
Also which springs are suppose to be where? long vs short? front vs back?

How tall is the spring sitting on its own, supporting no weight and with no preload.
Don't know. Is the car also sitting nose-high/tail-low or tail-high/nose-low? Might give an indication...

the car is sitting even but higher on the passenger side. so the driver side is both even front to back and same with the passenger side. but the passenger side is higher than the driver side.

so ive made a descision. Im going between eibachs and h&r springs. I am leaning towards the H&R because they are a bit lower than the eibachs from what i can find. Plus that is what i have on my focus which i love the way it rides. But i hear such great things about the eibachs. But ive also heard that the eibachs keep a raked look due to the back doesnt really drop much.
Any thoughts?

If you are just looking for a street setup, H&R would be an easier choice. If you are going to get the car corner balanced after installing the coilovers, then they are a better choice performance wise. Too many people throw on coilovers, slam their cars, and then complain how crappy it handles.

yeah, i have all intention of getting it realigned and corner balanced again. I have H&R on my focus and love it. But ive heard really great things about GCs, But also i cant seem to find the weights on their springs and am afraid they'll be too stiff for what i want. Although i really like the idea that i can adjust my height to get a better look as well as better performance. But they are 2 x more than H&R springs. lol. And if H&R springs will get me a nice ride with nice height then those would be a smarter choice.
Maybe i need to call them.

I decided to go with the g/c just for the adjustability which is something im pretty keen on. I am pretty **** about my cars and what to be able to adjust it as i please and get it perfect. Im concidering getting the speedway adjustable bumpsteer kit so i can really dial in the bump steer. Has anyone ever used that kit? Adjustable Tie-Rod Adapter Stud to Heim - Speedway Motors, America's Oldest Speed Shop Which one would i need? gm or pinto? and anyone know if they would work on 17in rims my current setup which i think is hinson si pretty damn close to the rim as of now.
