So whats really up with eibachs?

ive been reading all day on which springs i might want.

and it appears that, eibach is the most suited for the stock struts, and it also claims to be the lowest drop at 1inch.

but everyones actual results seem to be, that the eibachs end up being the least amount of drop, out of the top choices.......H&S, racing beat.

so whats up with that?

I think the Tein s-techs provide the lowest drop. Here's a couple of pics of my car when I had the Tein springs on stock touring shocks and wheels:

Nothing that I've read yet would indicate that Eibach Pro-tech claims to have the lowest drop. I tried to compile a list at the beginning of this thread.
https://www.rx7club.com/suspension-wheels-tires-brakes-20/more-spring-confusion-745144/

From that information the Eibach some of the least amount of drop of the more commonly mentioned springs. Eebach only claims an inch drop. If you want more than that, look at Tein S-tech, Tanabe, or H&R.

Since I can't find the RSR Down springs, I'm still not sure what direction to go. The Tein H-tech look like a good option as to the Eibachs. I've just read too many accounts of the Eibach lowering being inconsistent.

Because for optimum handling, dropping 1 inch does not compromise the suspension characteristics. If you go lower the suspension geometry gets worse and is not worth the lowered cg. Eibach Pro-kits are for driving, not looks.

The deal is that the Eibach's lower the front about 1" but the rear is barely lowered at all.

^ but your picture in another thread, using the pro-kits on the track look REALLY low. was that not on stock struts?

so, hmmm. well, is there another spring that would be ok for the stock struts and still lower the car a little over an inch all the way around?

That was on stock shocks (the FD has shocks not struts). It looked low on the track just from compression in the corners. Here's a shot from the driveway when I had them:

Now compare those to the shots above with the Tein's.

thanks mahjik!

i like those pics....im not sure i care if its much lower than that. my cars a 95 PEG/PEP whichever, and it sits higher than that. and im very concerned with performance also, not just the looks, but im on a budget! so replcaing shocks right now, is not what im going for.

but in the same breath, mahjik, you feel the H&R's are lower, and still acceptable with stock shocks

Yes, they are designed for stock shocks and do well with them. BTW, here are some shots of my car with Tokico's and Tein S-Techs:

It's actually a little lower as those shots were taken just a little while after it came off of jackstands.

Thinking of the Tanabe NF210, i am really concerned about my RE-A Side Steps and Don't want to have troubles at speed humps, so i want to lower it a bit at the back and little more at the front. Should i go for Eibach or Tanabe NF210?

Any suggestions please?
