I wonder if maxcooper has ever mounted his rear 40-mm offset 9.5 x 17 SE37Ks up front? I know his rear tires are a bit taller than what I'd run (265/40-17 vs 255/40-17), but I was just curious how they'd fit. The numbers say it'd be tight, but would fit?

Nope, he's never tried it. The car is away from home right now or I'd try it out and send pics. I'd be a little afraid to run the car that way -- seems likely to catch the fender lips.

Oh I mean just mounting the rear up front and turning the front wheels full right and left to see if the bind up anywhere. The 265/40-17 probably would catch the LF fender lip given the right conditions (rushing up into a driveway curb turning left), which is why I'd do 255/40-17. When/if you get the car back, and remember to try the rear up front...I'd be most grateful!

I have a set of five. Yes they are the fitment you're after with 255/40-17 Pirelli P6000s (new in April 03). Wheels are very good condition. Chips are touch-up painted with silver paint. Haven't bought new wheels yet, so the Integrals are still on my car LOL Truthfully, I'm not keen on shipping...so will probably unload them locally

Yeah, you got a point there, except I'm not open-tracking much anymore. The Integrals are a nice fit, and the classic 5-spoke won't go out of style with the FD3S. SSR Comps (I like the silver version) in 9.5 x 17, 42-mm offset weigh <16 lbs. Lightweight for $409/wheel Continental Sport Contact 2s in 255/40-17 look like good tires for the Comps...

I just looked on Tire Rack's website. The 9.5 x 17 "rear" are $389 each. Surprising price DECREASE!

DamanB, could you close this poll? It's obvious no one's serious about it based on the responses--Pep Boyz spinners as being the overwhelming choice.

rage wheels are sweet, nice smooth curves, good quality and probably the best value cuz they are not expensive at all usually. Falkens are great tires, can't go wrong there

Question Flip a coin

Looks like a toss up between SE37K and RG-R?

LOL. Glad I didn't pull the trigger on wheels. Popped my motor, and car's been down. FWIW, I'm going with BBS RG-R Bright Silver on the M3, and Volk SE37K Bright Silver on the Rx7

There isn't a Volk Wheel on the planet as nice as the RG-Rs.

I agree. BBS RG-R mesh looks so classic on bimmers (beemers are BMW motorcycles). Tire Rack has the RG-R in Bright Silver (DSK) for my M3 at reasonable prices! Rx7 is relegated to track duty, so lightweight Volk SE37K is probably more appropriate...although...my current 5-spoke SSR Integrals are probably fine for track duty...and much easier to clean than SE37K mesh.

Well this was a long thread, but, I'm glad I bought those SE37s for my 7, sounds like they should do a good job for what I want, and the one pic of them I did find way helpful as well. Josh

Thumbs up I'd go for the SE 37K's

I currently have SE 37K's 17X9 all around. I'm in the market for 18X10.5 for the rear in the same rim. I think it will fill that wheel well very nicely.
