Bad Front Sway Bar?

While changing out my old worn-out stock strut assemblys for my new coilovers I noticed something that bothered me a bit. I neglected to unbolt the front sway bar before trying to remove the stock assembly (I was in too big of a hurry). To my surprise, the hub almost lowered enough for the strut assembly to come out. I unbolted the sway and finished the driver's side. Then, just to check, I bolted the sway back up and tried to do the same on the passenger side... No luck. The sway bar held the hub a good 5inches or so higher than it had on the driver's side. Sounds like the sway bar is messed up and needs replaced. Any thoughts??
