1st gen rims

is it true that on the first gen GS model that the 4X110bolt pattern is different from all cars
i have been told that i will not find many types of aftermarket rims that will fit this car?
is that true?

No, all 1st gens r 4x110 except GSL-SE. It's going to be hard to find after market wheels for the 110 pattern unless u buy from someone that has them for sale. There r some on The Parts Trader under "suspension wheels".

is there no way i can fit other rims on it even if they are 4 bolt and just drill a new hole?
or are there conversion kits?
can it be done? so i can use other aftermarket wheels?

sure u could probably redrill the holes but the bolt circle has to be kept centered in the wheel. u could also find a machine shop that would elongate the bolt holes and use the special washers that old Craiger wheels used cause they were designed to fit multiple bolt patterns. Another choice would be to have ur rotors and axles redrilled for a different pattern, that's what I've thought about doing.

Tirerack.com sells 2 wheels for the 4x110 bolt pattern. very affordable. I have the Kosei K1 in a 15". fantastic wheel!!.
Mariahmotorsports.com sells wheels for the 4x110. but are very expensive. not really worth it to me. but they have a number of different design.

converting the car to GSL-SE hubs would be a good deal, you get a commmon bolt pattern, better brakes, better gearing for a small highwinding motor, and the performance brake stuff is cheaper than the regular 1st gen stuff, also, the gsl-se doesn't use lug bolts, it has real lug studs- a major bonus if your planing on racing your car at all

Buy all the stuff, and bolt it on. It's pretty simple AFAIK.

I've never done it though.

Exclamation

hey ok to do it u need the whol erear axle of an gsl-se, im talking about drop the axle with wheels on and mount it to the other car. there is one draw back, u r adding 40lbs of turning wieght to the back wheels. but u gain 4.10 gearing. in the front the suspension mounts right up as well. if u wanted to cheap it alittle the fronts only need the rotor, pumpkin with studs n brake calipers and brackets. maybe 450 bucks for the whole gsl-se suspension set up. oh u will need new wheels already when u do this, the 4x110 WILL NOT FIT!!! enjoy hey btw does anyone know the smiley doing a race, he shifts through gears burning out traction tire marks? i kno offf topic thx!!!

Why do it the hard way? I have fitted 4/108 wheels on my 4/110 pattern!
Take a look in the 1st gen general section under the thread "things you want for your 1st gen" or something like that, and you will find the answer my friend!

Actually i am really surprised that you guys over the pond haven`t done this already, because the bolts are really common over here and i have been driving around with them for years now!

Were you able to keep using your orignal hardware or did you have to use different lug bolts or studs?
