OK...so previous posts have given me info on lightweight wheel manufacturers for track use. Will use '225' RA-1's all around. Question is should I go with 15"'s or 16"'s?
Seems to me 15" wheels and tires , will be lighter, cost less, and offer far more selection (wheels). Other issue is tire diameter will be about 1" less than'stock' (225/50-15 vs 205/55-16), effectively giving me lower gearing...which is maybe not a bad thing for track work.
Anyone see a problem running 15's? Anticipate 15X7 with +32 to+35 offset.....Bistein's leave less clearance inside, so I have to push them out a little (+40 rubs the coilovers up front).

in my opinion, 15" would look cheap/bad enough to make up for any benefits

but thats just me

plus, if you want to keep your car the same height, you would need to get higher profile tires

remaining at stock size also allows the advantage of interchangability, you could could have a set of winter tires and summer tires on a set of rims each

For the track, you're going to want 15"s, a lot more tire sizes available. Otherwise, go with 17's. Personally, I really like 16's on my TII, but finding good tire sizes is a PITA.

Not concerned too much with look, as this is for track use (17" with 225/45-17's F1-D3's for the street or wet tracks). Tire size for RA-1's is either 225/50-16 or 225/50-15, with the 15's being $80 (CDN list) cheaper each. Much better selection in wheels in 15 than in 16. And then there's the weight.
Still thinking I adjust the Bilsteins to give me room to get the jack under the car with the 15's, and live with al ittle more 'eyebrow with the 17's.
