A-spec 500R

I'm also looking at 6265 and 82 HTA HP ... friends from evo group have shown some very impressive data. Again cost is a factor... I will need new piping regardless...
I talked to Sean a few days ago, I'm going to go with a 6265 T4 undivided .81. His recommendation was that the spool time will be slightly better than the 500r. He did recommend against the .96 with a street port, however i was told a .81 power will fall off around 6800 by another builder.
Not the same turbo but still cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0eWwMk6Kqk

I pulled my engine this weekend......there was *zero* oil in my intake tract, and my 500R has no more shaft play than when it was installed. I'm very happy with the performance and reliability of this turbo and am considering sticking with it when the new motor is ready to be dropped in

. Sean, you should get on that :PBTW, when I took your friend for a ride, my car was leaning out (it would only do it after a while of hard driving) so I didn't push it too much. It was actually bad enough that if I didn't have the ceramics, the engine would have most likely been blown since I heard detonation lol (14 AFR @ 16 PSi isn't kosher at all). All it was was damn fuel pump wiring which is now fixed.

Sorry for not posting up in awhile things here have been a bit crazy with all the backorder issues and to be honest I have been focusing more on the shop side of things here, than the forum side of things. I'll try not to leave you guys hanging for so long from now on.
62/65 is the way I would run it on a rotary that is more focused on power than response. The 62 turbine wheel should flow roughly the same as a 35R wheel while the 65 will flow better than the older P-trim wheels.
So lets use some frame of references
Carl(long time forum member) ran a older cast 67/P-trim on a .81 undivided housing, with a SP engine and what I would consider a conservative port and tune. He achieved over 500whp under 25psi if I remember and 450whp in the high teens.
Our 3574's and our 500R-SP's both run .84 divided housings and have proven to perform as well, most dyno's you will see don't start to drop off till well past 7k.
I wouldn't knock the .81 on a 62/65 since it certainly will outperform Carls 67/P-trim with the same T/H in the right hands.
The .96 we ran here was laggy when compared to the 1.0 divided we ran, but to be honest it had a large turbine wheel too so that certainly doesn't help the situation.
It's not right to compare different cars with different tunes parts etc but it can give you a frame of reference in some cases to go off of.
My suggestion is if your wanting mid 400's with great response get the .81 if you want power ie focused on getting 500whp and have less concern on response get the .96
The 62 is a hot item right now and precision is having a very hard time keeping up on orders but making a kit for it or ordering a turbo itself I can easily do.
I will come back to this thread and clean it up and start a precision thread shortly when I get some free time.

Sean I know you've been busy, but when you get a chance I'd like to talk to you about one of these new billets. Just wondering if it would be worth waiting for one instead of the 500R-SP. Cost, timeframe, difference in response, etc.
Hey Sean could you ask Ryan about the Cracked turbine housing pics I sent him? I want to get the car ready for a track day on Wednesday and am kinda stuck until you guys give me some feedback ^_^

^Sean hasn't been on the forum much lately. Chances are the holdup on your kit is one of Sean's suppliers dicking him over with parts needed to complete kits. He's been getting dicked around by his suppliers a lot this year.

I think that some of his suppliers have been filling orders for the military and leaving him flapping in the breeze. Sean is very frustrated to say the least......

I'm not sure who has been waiting for seven months, I have only one guy on the order board who has been, but there are other issues not related to here/a-spec for those reasons. I'll shoot you a PM today and get it sorted out. I do know some people have waited two months and others almost four. This is mainly because the backlog that was made during the consistent two week backorder I was being told every two weeks, for oh I don't know two months! Which made me look like a lier to be honest. Things have just started moving forward and now I'm trying to sort this huge mess as fast as possible. I've gone so far as to just buy some of the turbo's from outside sources even and drop ship them so as to try and save some time. I'm not being dishonest about it, and I wont hide it by deleting the stuff. I'm always up front as I can be with it. Sorry for the headaches. It sucks for me being in the middle as all I want is for people to just have a good product to enjoy and they are proud to have on their car. Instead I'm the A**hole who took your deposit.
