A-spec 500R
After thinking about it for awhile for numerous reasons (confusion being the main one) I have chosen to close out the old thread and start this fresh and new. So here is all the relavent information needed. Even if you read the old thread reread this as there have been changes made of significance.
It will be available in T4 only. Rear housing options are .82, 1.00, 1.06, 1.12 Divided. Our 500R will offer almost identical response to the 35R with a much more efficient top end. So if you were looking at a 40R this will offer roughly the same power, under most circumstances, with quicker response. If your looking for something that has more topend than a 35R but quicker response than the larger turbo's this will do it. It is more efficient across the board and especially at higher pressure ratios. Example 15lbs on a 35R 74% eff. 500R 77%.. @18lbs 35R 72% 500R 75%.. @20lbs 35R 67% 500R 75%.. @25lbs 35R is out of breath, 500R is 73%.. It will support up to 75lbs/min. at a pressure ratio of 2.75 I can even broaden this for you further if you opt for the anti surge compressor. The best part is you wont have to sacrifice response for this setup. It will be very similar to the standard 35R in response. I spent a while finding this combination and I think it will be the absolute best offering out there for those who want response and power. |
Sean, when would the anti surge compressor housing become a necessary item?
Zach |
It helps broaden the map as well as keep the compressor from surging not to mention you get the cooler sounding turbo.
|
We have hit 448whp&337rwt@1bar, a few days back and 503&386rwt@20lbs today. I will try and get the sheets up tomorrow

Just out of curiousity what kind of numbers are you getting/expect to get on 92 octane? 1 bar or so?
|
the anti surge compressor cover is ohhh sooo sweet! :)

with the choice of rear hsg. would not there be different response with each one. and what kind of money for a complete turbo. and you say divided only , would it work on an open cast manifold, HKS
|
Yes, different housing will offer different levels of response and power. Sacrificing one for the other. You can run divided turbine housings on undivided manifolds your best bet is not to knife edge it but to cut it back into a C-shape. This however will ruin the housing for putting on a full divided manifold later. At this time we are currently not offering just the turbo. It will come only as a complete package setup.

The best part is still fantastic response. I will be offering other options to this setup as well soon that will improve upper end power more and still keep the response almost identical. I truly feel if you own a FD and want the best all around setup this will be it, hands down.

-S- http://www.a-spectuning.com/fimages/GT35RT4-5.jpg Congrats on these numbers!!! You are right this sounds like every FD's owners turbo...in a relatively small package! |
you should post pics of the entire turbo kit since in the web page you only have turbo kits installed that will be nice so we can see a good shot of the manifold and turbo.
thanks |
What are we looking at price-wise for just the turbo? Kit? And what a/r would you recommend for street/500rwhp?
|
^sorry bro...see my post above, COMPLETE package only.
I assume, Manifold WG DP Turbo drain/feed lines hardware gaskets |
Yes it is a complete package only. The turbo itself is not for sale, and dubulup that is the basic setup. I have a short runner manifold as well.

We did 448whp on one day at roughly a bar we backed it up the next day with a 439 run and a 446 run. Again boost was roughly at a bar. The day after that we did 503@20 lbs. We will keep tuning and tweaking and see where we end up. -S- |
what is the price of the kit? and what is me most agressive package that you offer with this turbo?
|
Price for the kit is $3699, then there are options such as coating and anti-surge etc.
What do you mean by aggressive? -S- |
