GT-35 for solid 400RWHP?

Hi,

I'm looking at converting to a ball-bearing single turbo as my stock twins are leaking(read: smoking) again and I'd rather go single than have them rebuilt, again.

Car is a '94 with 49k and the following mods:
Downpipe, midpipe, & RB muffler
Street ported
Non-sequential stock twins w/15% clipped exhaust side
Apex PowerFC
Greddy Profec-B
Crane ignition amp
PFS midsize(red) intercooler
Upgraded(Cosmo?)fuel pump and FPR
Open intake
Stock primaries, 1200cc secondaries

The GT-35 looks like a pretty solid unit. My question is whether this would be appropriate kit given my mods. I don't want to have to upgrade anything else to support a single turbo if I can help it. I looked at these kits on the A-Spec website and like the idea of the kit that works w/stock airbox and airpump.

My goal is an honest to goodness, solid, daily driven 400RWHP on 93 octane pump gas. Given my mods is this reasonable with the GT-35?

If not, any recommendations on a more appropriate turbo greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Nels

You may want to call A-spec just to double check. I wanted something similar in regards to keeping the airpump and airbox and liked how their website indicated that you could keep those with the T3 kit. When I called however, I was told the T3 was no longer available. This was about 2 years ago.

Crispy, thx for the info. I checked out your website, very informative. Looks like I already have some of the mods in place that you went through however I'm really not looking forward to fabbing up an intercooler pipe.

DJF, good point. Will definitely call them. Seems like tuners are too busy tuning and fabbing to update their websites. lol

Nels,
Not to worry about that IC pipe. There are plenty of off-the-shelf angled silicon couplers of various lengths that you can use in combination with straight lengths of Aluminum pipe to meet your needs. Every single install requires a custom setup for the turbo to IC connection since every one is unique. Good luck with your install.

Probably the single best off the shelf choice for the power level you are looking. Might want to check with Sean on an ETA. He's been very busy with various things.
