Do a search because this has been asked many times in the 3rd gen forum and has even been posted on some web sites.

I wouldn't recommend an FD for a DD. It makes for a great weekend car, but get something better for daily driving first, then get one(if you don't have one already). A Camry, Civic, Corolla, Accord or something along those lines are usually cheap, hold up well and are great for daily driving.

An FD is a great car to drive for fun or on the weekends. But as far as every-day commute you'll deal with lots of issues like high temps, which eventually lead to broken coolant hoses that leak...all kinds of stuff.

Plus, FD's are not gas-friendly. Depending on your drive you could spend several dollars a week just on gas. So when you consider higher insurance premiums, high gas prices, the reliability issues..etc., I don't think it's a good choice for a daily.

well i do agree with Elevation7, DD FD is not the best idea but it does work, i do it. if you do go with the FD as DD, new engine is good start, but search for more info, there are small things to big things that can help. new vac lines is a good one from personal exp. to start.
