Greetings everyone,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 2011 is finally here and another decade is in the bag.

2011 marks the 30th year the Houston club has been in existence. Since 1981 we've had ups, downs and evolutions galore. The future of the RX-marque is just around the corner and the recent past is still well represented by all three generations of the RX-7 and the RX-8. Let's not forget the historic RX-'s of the 70s. The R-100, RX-2, RX-3, RX-4, RX-5 Cosmo and even the quite rare rotary pickup whom all paved the way for the sports cars we know and love today.

What the next decade has in store for the rotary community is still a mystery, maybe a simple rotary coupe, or a hot hatchback, possibly a highway shredding sedan or a svelte crossover type vehicle. Whatever the future holds, the RX-Club of Houston will be here today, tomorrow and 10 years from now to support the past, present and future of those quirky Mazda automobiles with those funny little engines.

Thank you all for another great year I look forward to the next one and beyond.

Our next meeting will be held on January 11th 2011 at Gabby's BBQ. They are located about 1/2 mile north of 610 at 3101 North Shepherd Drive.

Earlybirds are welcome to show up at 6, meeting will move inside for dinner shortly after 7. I spoke to the manager at the last meeting and we CAN now use the parking lot adjacent to the restaurant across from the church. So let's see if we can fill that thing up. Please reply to this thread to let us know if you are coming. This will help Gabby's plan for any excessive crowds we might generate.

All meetings for 2011 will be held on the second Tuesday of the month. There are no major conflicts with holidays, however the November meeting does fall on a voting day so make sure to vote early or come out after you've done your civic duty.

I have to meet a septic guy at the new property to get a quote for a new install. It is a shi**y job but someone else gets to do it..... HEHE

Just noticed a small oil leak last night... just a few drops on the floor over the past week. Previous owner resealed the oil pan and I haven't noticed any leaks over six weeks until now -- will take a better look and hopefully make it out. Definitely not by 6 regardless.
