Really, really pissed

Opened up the garage this morning to go to work. As the door rose, I could see that the drivers door to my 90 vert was open (thats not good). Sure enough when I walked up to the car I could see the top has a 10 inch slash in it. What really burns my *** is the car was unlocked and I had already pulled the radio to try and reduce the chance of someone cutting the top to get in. Turns out several houses (cars?) got vandalized last night. Well I'll just have to add a new top to the restoration list. DAMN!!!!!

i think you can only shoot them if they are in the act of actually harming you or your property. meaning that if you caught them in the act and they started to run away, you could not shoot them as they ran away.

somebody with a CHL should be able to clarify...

Its different if you shoot to kill... incapacitation so the authorities can deal with them is usually acceptable.

Yeah that sucks man. ******** are everyhere!

I know here in Louisiana your car is an extention of your home, so you can be at the store, come outside and see someone jacking your crap and shoot them and it will be legal.

Thanks guys but I'm not up to shooting anyone over a cut in the top, BUT, that doesn't mean I wouldn't mind putting some of that Hapkido training to good use. I am more of the "break/crush the hand so it won't close ever again" kind of guy so the next time they try to pick up a knife they think of the mistake they made!!!! Yeh, the car was outside, not everything will fit into the garage right now.

You have to believe you are in danger to use deadly force, and the body better be in your house, not in the yard flee'g the premises. Don't hurt them either, kill them so there is only one story for the jury to hear. If you hurt anyone it is easy for them to acuse you of unecessary force and win a suit against you, too easy.

If you have no way of stopping them with your property, you can shoot them in the street...if it's one person, he'd better be a monster of a man...several youths is a different thing...ask the guy that unloaded two banana clips worth of joy from his AK-47 at 3 AM and killed three thieves jacking his rims, with a fourth "member" merely getting wounded by playing dead. All in their teens and the Grand Jury decided he'd acted properly....mind you, HE RAN down the street and got the last guy in the BACK.

There's also the guy that was in his car and was too close to the van in front of him for too long. At the light, a huge Somoan guy (I kid you not, he was originally from Somoa...) gets out of the van, walks back to the "offending" car and starts pulling and pounding on the guy still strapped in his car...that victim managed to get his gun into his hand before the guy got to him, so he basically let the Somoan establish his intentions were bad and then unloaded the gun through the window into the monster-man, killing him on the spot.

The Grand Jury decided he had acted properly also...

Texas is good for some stuff...
