I'm in Houston. LaQuinta Inn off of Bayview (IIRC).

Finally got my computer hooked up in the room.

Check out www.wwltv.com for damage reports.

Houston has so much **** compared to Louisiana...

While driving in, I was like, "WHOA! Check that out! Check that out! WHOA! That's even cooler than the last thing!"

And the Aquarium Downtown? THAT **** LOOKS MAD TYTE AT NYTE! Hahaha.

Later guys.

I know it's too late now, but if another one of these ill-named hurricanes heads your way again I've got 17 acres outside Austin you're welcome to park stuff on.

...followed by the next big one, Hurricane HOOOOOOOLY F-CKIN' MOSES!

We got lucky in Alexandria that it missed us. I have a family staying here with me that have two children 3yrs and 9mos that was short on money and the Red Cross contacted me after letting them know that I had a spare Bedroom and bath at my Apt. My Uncle's carlot in Gulfport,MS is under 10-12 feet of water right now. IF any of you with car clubs can start collecting can foods and clothing right now contact your local REd Cross about these and other donations. This is going to take a long time to recover from and it is going to affect everyone throughout the nation and world. Thanks to you for your support and prayers. GAry

My family and I are okay. My -7- is sitting in my garage in Des Allemands. I couldn't bring it because it has a blown motor.

My house is fine, though.

Good luck to everyone out there.

Good to hear Jack. I knew you'd get the hell out of Dodge and save those new Fiskes. THe cars at DCP are no longer. I think ours made out ok at Freddie's.

Keep in touch Jack. Not sure where I'll be relocated while N.O. goes through rebuilding. It will easily be over a year before anything gets back to normal.

Be safe man. Hope the rest of you made out o.k.

Houma is okay. Meineke Car Care had four 7's at the shop and they're safe including Ted's, Charlie's, and Art's. Freddie's car and my car are safe. DCP in New Orleans is in a location that is flooded. No telling how many 7's are lost.

Mark,

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear that everyone was safe in your neck of the woods. I am sick to my stomach when I see all of that destruction in New Orleans. The levee that broke on Lake Ponchartrain was about .5 miles from my house on 22nd street. I am sure it is under water right now.

Darrel emailed me and stated he was in Houston. I am sure his shop is a total loss. It wasn't far from the canals and the east side of town got hit pretty hard with that levee breaking.

Another sad factor is that I would venture to say that most of the people in New Orleans don't have the appropriate insurance to cover their losses. CNN predicted that is was probably 3 out of 4 who are NOT covered. That is terrible news. I have so many friends in the area and I feel their pain.

Sevens on the shore crew, you all are in my prayers.

Charlie

My aunt and uncle (who are here with us in Houston) live on BelAir right by 37th street. We are pretty sure there house is destroyed, but we don't know if it is still standing or not.

Really sad to hear about DCP. Hope everyone gets back on their feet soon.

Glad to hear you guys are safe. My mother's house was off of Bullard in New Orleans East, She is here safe as well as all my family from N.O. Although, we think she is safe we still have not heard from my step-sisters Mother. She tried to ride out the storm.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone that has been affected by this devastating storm. Truely has been the storm of the century, and life in the affected areas may never be the same.
