Glad things worked out. we actually are better off financially now that we were in the old house, so no worries here. Now, time to start looking toward the FC projects i have been putting off.....

Kingdavid1,

I saw Darrel last week (in Virginia) and he returned to New Orleans on Saturday. It is my understanding that his shop suffered severe damage (water crushed his roll-down door and collapsed the northern wall). I do not believe he will be up for business anytime soon. Plus, his tools were in the shop, so they are either damaged or gone.

For RX-7 support, I recommend you contact Freddie Hebert. He has a shop in Thibodeaux and does excellent work. Contact Freddie at 985.493.9951.

Charlie

I amm here! I am a Marine stationed in New Orleans. I was a little tied up plucking peeps off of roof tops. My FD is fine. I want to meet up with people in the area. I only know of 2 people who own FD's. Marshall, we date two girls from the some family hahaa, and Edward because he lives arond the block from me. Can we put together a BBQ or something. Maybe just a meet at fox and the hound for some food and pool. BRING UP THE AFTER KATRINA MORAL!! hahaha Let me know if anyone is interested or even around for something like this. I might be able to host something at my house. Good to here from everyone. Thanks

id be up for it. i'd like to meet some of you RX7 people locally. also its always nice to see the city come back to life after living in another city for the past two months. We've gotten NO rx7's at the dyno or the shop. Just at the weekend races, there is a red one out there.

Well if you are looking to get some power runs with a wideband attached to the car we can accomodate you.

If you and another car from this forum for example come by we can give you guys a group discount.

Any further concerns regarding prices or contact info you can find it on our site.

Thanks,

Jay

SAFCs tune, flat rate $175.00

That's not a generic map that you use right? You actually get up there and tune the SAFC via Dyno + Wideband (which I'm stressing again that I DONT have one, I don't know if ya'll will provide or not, from the looks of the website it looks like a yes).

And as another note, you've tuned rotarys before, by the looks at it the shop looks fairly new as well as your status on the forums is new, don't want to go down there to South LA and have a piston tuner screw something up because he detonated!

Yes we have tuned a FC via haltech systems before, so a SAFC is not an issue.
Make sure you bring good octane gas, car with a good clutch, decent thread on the tires and some extra plugs as well.

Thanks,

Jay

Gas = 93 Due to S/C
Clutch = Check (barking second gear easy)
Tires = Check (even though they are different brands they still have tread on them plenty)
Plugs = Negative , any reason why we need a second set?

A fresh set of plugs is good to bring to a dyno session so in case there is a problem we can diagnose it. Also a good thing is to bring the old plugs and label them according to their previous position on the engine.

Yes, Freddie is the ONLY person in this state that I'd let touch my Rx-7. Darrel was the other, but now he's gone.

We are still working towards a tuning session out there on Airline hwy. at 454 Dyno.

BTW, I saw your car at his shop and it was super clean !

Hey guys!

I just found this thread... have been looking at our home site forever waiting for an update...

I am ok, at home now in Slidell area. My FD is ok, my wife's car was at Darrell's though so we lost it.

I spoke to Darrell last week and he is working on a SBA loan to get his shop back.

Hope it works out for him.

Guys would love to have a get together since I was a new member at time of storm.

Finally finished my car mechanically and need to do the tuning session.

also got it painted thx to state farm and doing seats for christmas...

Nice to see you guys are ok.

I know there were 7 FD's in Darrels Shop. Petros' and Len's CYM for sure if I remember right. I also lost my new A/c compressor, new a/c evaporator and some other odds and ends I had in there.

sorry for everyone's loss.

Kenny, PM me your email addy again so that I def. have it. I'm pretty sure I do. Anyway, good to hear your car was spared. Mine is fine along with several others. Leonard's actually bit the dust but he has already purchased another CYM R1.

I believe there is a Rx-7 Party in the works for Dec. 17th in Houma, LA. It will be held at Art Defraites Restaraunt. SHould be plenty of Rotary enthusiasts on hand. Will send out an email to the list about it asap.

Talk to you soon.

T.A.
