We got out safely too. Came back on Tuesday to find my roof completely gone. And I live in Vacherie--St James Parish. Most of my town came through with barely a missing shingle or three. The biggest damage I have found in town is my house and the Jubilee/Sonic in the center of town. Good news is that this weekend we will be moving into our new house. The FC survived without a scratch. Luckily I will be able to continue working on the project. Our prayers are out to you guys who can't come back in. If there is anything we can do, hit me up. I will still be living in Vacherie. My new house does not have power restored yet though, but small price to pay. Any of you can call me if you need something-PM me for number.

I feel very lucky. My house did not flood, and i just found arial photo showing no damage to the house or garage where the FD is. The FD lives.

Sorry to hear about DCP, but i am glad to hear that Darrel is safe in Houston, i saw him Saturday afternoon and he said he was staying.

Best of Luck to all,

Mike Parsons

Good to hear Marshall. Glad you made it out. I may be relocated to Dallas or Vegas for the next several months.

It may be a while before everyone recovers, BUT...Sevens on the Shore will ride again !!

I know its a late reply, but i'm ok, my fd is perfect, and my house is good except for every tree in my yard has fallen. All my fd parts in the shed are ok too, even though a tree fell on the shed. I can't believe the shed I built withstood a tree falling on it. I hope everyone else is ok as well as their families and sevens. I'm in baton rouge right now, might go to houston for a while near spring, texas. It's like a horror movie that doesn't end. Eventually everything will get somewhat back to normal. For people who don't know my screen name, this is Edward w/the 93 vr FD with re 99spec front and 99spec rims.

The overhead photo of DCP looks better than I expected. Its flooded but you can still see the hoods/trunks of cars outside. The roof is still there and it appears there's no wall damage. Petros' car was in the air on a lift and someone's red FD was below. Lenard's car was also inside at floor level.

Hoping my pile of engine parts in there survives. If that's all I lose in this, I'll still come out leaps ahead of most in this mess.

Glad to hear you guys check in. badass7 if theres anything I can help you with in Orlando, PM me for my number. And those who are still there, if you can give a basic assesment of your town (flooding situation, level of damage, electric power etc) it would help greatly in my casework with the red cross. Thanks

I'm not there but have been getting word from others visiting and I've seen pictures taken from the ground. My home is in uptown New Orleans, the area is known as Carrollton. Most of the River Bend area is dry from the river until you get to Claiborne Ave. No flooding on my street, just wind damage and luckily no looting of the houses on my block. Of course, no utility service.

My company has an office in Gretna, so I can find out something for you if you still need it. Houma came through with just losing power and some wind. From what I recall hearing, Kenner did flood but the water dropped fairly quickly--Kenner was dry before any of New Orleans. I live in Vacherie, LA, which is about a half hour from Houma. My town had mostly wind damage--not very severe. Overhangs at the gas stations were damaged. Most roofs are missing a couple of shingles, and several fences came down. I may very well be the only one who lost my house in this town. Our roof came off from what the neighbor said sounded like a tornado. The new house we just bought had trees on the roof but no damage from them, and the fence in the back yard was trashed. that's it. No water damage to speak of.

Sorry to hear, Ted, about your house. Hope you get settled somewhere safe while this is all getting worked out and let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Is anyone still missing?

some parts of kenner suffered NO flood damage. lakeshore is a swamp and it stinks. the westbank (north of the expressway) took a lot of wind damage but not much flooding.
