hi guys, i'm struggling with my 91 t2 swapped na trying to get it started after doing a complete drivetrain overhaul i'm not getting any spark, to my knowledge i've checked everything.. is there anyone nearby that has lots of experience that would be willing to come give it a look over? i'll buy ya dinner or supply some beer?

 

Wiring? Did you swap harnesses? ECU.... burned caps maybe?

 

The car has a na harness converted to work on a T2 but it has ran fine for 2 years since the swap. When doing the drivetrain swap I didn't mess with any wiring. The only thing that happened with the electrics is I had the starter grounded and the battery kept arching, then one time the battery didn't arch but smoke came from my 15a engine fuse and melted the fuse. I got the starter on correct and battery hooked up, no arching. Replaced the 15a fuse.

 

It sounds silly but do this:

Swap the battery. Try a different one.

i would take a closer look at you ecu , maybe take a smell test to it, or even better open it and look inside. if not , and spark is your problem try swapping coils. you have grounded a main positve cable , so anything is possible.
