Blew an Apex seal, rebuild time!
Since I'm still waiting on my turbos to get rebuilt and the small stuff like gaskets, etc I installed some of the interior stuff I have had laying around for a while. It was a good day for it. First rear speaker delete and new cargo area mat.
I hear you Robert, maybe not so expensive parts but more parts than what I paid for the car. Never ending isn't it?
Gracias mano, it stays in the garage quite a bit.

For all those getting UIMs/LIMs ceramic coated, be VERY careful to get all the beads out of the manifolds. In particular they like to lodge in all the small vacuum nipples. I'll blow through each one by mouth, and use a thin drill bit with a small hammer to tap the beads until they break. Then liberal use of compressed air to get all the debris out.
I know of three different motors that have failed over the years from beads getting sucked into them. You definitely don't want this happening to you, makes for a sad day

I've heard some people say that the only medium that should be used for blasting manifolds is soda blasting..
It's suppose to be warmer next weekend, I hope to get some stuff done. Even the garage has been too cold.
Thanks for the advice, I have had a couple of people tell me this. Just loading the parts in my car had beads rolling out.

G, they sell these little devices at Lowes and Home Depot called HEATERS.
They can warm up a garage enough, so you can work.
Stop spending so much on "look good" parts and you will be able to afford one.

Last updates, first the last powdercoating/ hi-temp coating. Since I have everything taken apart I decided to do a lot of the small brackets thruout the engine bay and hi-temp coating on the exhaust and turbo heatshields.
Got most of the small parts to but the engine back together from Ray at Malloy Mazda & Atkins. Got everything but the turbo stuff since I'm waiting on my turbos to come b
ack from BNR.

And finally all the hardware from Himni Racing, I didn't feel like using all the old bolts/nuts. Been waiting on these of that I can start putting the engine back together.
