Any good 13B rebuilders in TX

hey guys i am in need of a rebuild on my 88 N/A. I am going to go with a bridge port as well. i need to know of any recommendations you guys have as far as who to take my ride to. rx7.com i know is good, MZM will only get a reman. motor, and then there is alamo rotary in San Antonio. has anybody used these people before, or had any good/bad experiences. also what is a good price for a rebuild with a bridge port. i can get a bridge ported motor from tunerdr.com for about 1600 but then i still gotta get some one to put the thing in. i would rather have them do everything at once, if possible. thanks guys.

I can install a motor (having it shipped here would be cheaper than your house, too); never rebuilt a 13B, though.

Well you have Rotary Performance , Gotham Racing , BDC, and Marvel Speed around the general DFW area. Ones that actually do BPs..... no idea, I know BDC and Gotham do Half bridgeports.

I have no experience with a bridge port, but I got my motor from rotary performance. I got a mild street port. I like their work, as they test run the motor to ensure that it works, before they send it out to the customer. 10,000 miles on the motor and it runs like a champ. You have many shops to choose from in Texas (above post), and I would recommend that you call them and compare product versus price. Make sure you ask what they reuse and what they replace. That will affect your price dramatically. Good luck.

Yup, I hang out at his shop every Friday and watch him and his partner turn some beat up RX-7s into pretty cars worthy for the street once again. His 13B-RE swap on his own car should be finished by now and he recently imported an actual 93+ish Cosmo.. that is such a b.e.a.utiful car in person.

Very beautiful. I know Curtis; I am very good friends with him and am at his shop often. Next time you're over there, take a peek at his Cosmo 13BRE engine in his white 10th Anniv. I ported and did some of the assembly on that motor.
