yet another turbo question...
Im trying to choose my turbo. Im looking at the 500r and 4094r. The goal is 500... for now. The motor will be getting a half bridge. I will be using methanol injection. The car is going to be a street car with an ocasional trip to the drags. Im leaning towards the 4094r but i just wanted to see what you all thought. Im a bit worried about the 4094r having lag issues. Thanks for your input.

Well, if you're going to be running a 1/2 bridge and using methanol injection, a 4094R(although a great turbo) is overkill if you're worried about spool. So, it seems the 500R would be a better choice.
I am partial to 40Rs though because I have one(4088R) and I love it. Lag is not all it's cracked up to be. Only out of the hole is it an issue. the rest of the time, it's just a matter of choosing the right gear.
Hope this helps.

what would be similar to the 500r. i dont really want to pay 1k for an aspec mani when i could build my own. i want to stick with the gt series because you can repair them. so no t04z.
also... how similar are the 500r and the 40r?
thanks

The 4094R is basically a 40R/42R hybrid. It is a bit bigger than an A-spec 500R. The 500R is similar to a GT35R(uses the same housings a.f.a.i.k.) but with better efficiency(different wheels).
