FL Would this turbo work for my application?

I have found a Garrett turbo that is .81 front and 1.23 rear t6 off of a diesel. My set up is a pp 13b, fastec pump, 4 bar lt10, and supporting mods. Would I be able to use this turbo and is it better than an s475? Thanks!!!!

What he said. Some of those "large" T6 diesel turbos actually have relatively small compressors.

Yes, measure the wheels. The only T6 Garretts I can think of with .81 compressor housings and 1.24 rear are the GT55 series, and those are massive. Similar sized turbine to an S475 but much bigger compressor(91mm+).

Ok guys, take a look at this turbo. It says 60 trim but 78 on the front with a 1.15 rear. Compared to my t70 this thing is ALOT bigger. The wheels measure 3" front and back. Is this turbo suitable for a PP motor and it has an internal wastegate, how do I get rid of that?? What is this turbo good for?

you need to take off the compressor housing and turbine housing and measure the inducer and exducer to know how big it actually is. that is the only way...

What would it need to be in order for it to work?

If you want to go budget style, just buy a BW turbos and save yourself the headache. You wont need to mess with the internal gate or anything and you know its a good turbo.

Besides, thats a very big turbo, probably major overkill for what you need.

here are specs on a .81 and 1.23 rear turbo. How do these wheels look for my application?
Intake wheel is 4.5" - 114mm
Exhaust is 4" - 101mm

This will be for my PP alky motor

Wow, thats pretty big. You have something between a GT47 and a GT55. The S475 would definitely be smaller and spool quicker. Whats the inducer size on the compressor?

Unless you are trying to make 900+whp, there are better options. An S475-S480 would be my choice for a budget turbo.

Why would you consider this turbo? seems like a lot of lag even with a PP and also lots of headaches restoring it to operating condition. Are you on a tight budget? or just want to see how this thing performs on a 13b??? Cause I know I would

are these the widest dimensions of each wheel?
to understand the size of this turbo, it helps to have the inner and outer dimensions of both wheels.

Goldfarb has a few S475's that need rebuilt. You can get them for less than a bill.

Or, you can buy a new one for $550

There is absolutely no shaft play. The one problem I see though, is finding a turbo manifold that will be able to support the weight. Any ideas of where to find a good turbo manifold and how much? I might go to GATO's and have him make me one?

What turbo could we compare to this one? I.E. BW S4XX or Garrett GTXX? I am going to have it looked at by Mike Turbo and have him do any needed tweaks.
