Goodfella thats good news.....I have abotu 4000miles on my 7420's 9 leading and 11 trailing... The car runs great but stumbles around 1500 rpm in low rev gear changes. I'll go 10 L and 10.5 T after this set burns out to correct this...

Gonna ressurect this...anyone know where I can get a milled down socket for the B10EGV's? From the looks of it there would be no material at all left on the socket...the plug is pretty damn snug in there. Anyone have any ideas?

I think you can get one from Racing Beat, you could also do it yourself.

b10egv' are not a resistor plug?
The resistor purpose is to surpress noise and would that cause interference with a standalone (haltech)?

I ordered my Greddy race plugs from rhdjapan when I did a group buy locally. I still have a box of around 12 plugs that i got for extra spares for me. Got them for around $30 /plug.

Anyway, my first set of 9/10 ran for ~25,000 km last year and when I pulled them out they still looked fine except the rear leading had ~1mm of wear on the part that extends out. The rest of the plugs still looked like new after I glass blasted them and I kept them as spares (although I'll probably never use them).

Current set has gone for about 16,000 km and I still have no reason to change them. When I'm ready to go 23+ PSi, I'm going to put new 10/11's in.

I'm going to be running B10EGV plugs in all 4. From the research I heard they are great plugs for the money.

If anyone has trouble finding the R7420's on www.sparkplugs.com make sure you search with specific heat range... R7420-9 or R7420-10 or R7420-105 or R7420-11 $33.82/each

Ok best overall deal I found on the R7420's was from www.clubplug.net ... also $33.82/ea AND you get free shipping if your order is over $150... so I also bought a set of stock 9's for the heck of it. Also, cool thing is they give you a 5% discount on your next order if you refer a friend, but the coupon expires in 20 days.

can anyone chime in and say whether or not it matters using a resistor/non resistor type plug when you have an after market ignition setup.. e.g M&W?

Thanks

M&W says, "Where possible use non resistor spark plugs to reduce energy loss."

If you run a non-resistor plug and have interference issues, you'll obviously need to switch to a resistor type plug. The question is then, why risk potential engine damage from interference to gain a small amount of added spark?

No doubt Lugwig... I have both sets of plugs and just wanted to know if running a M&W would the cancel out the issues of running a resistor/no resistor plug.

Thanks though, I'll stick to the resistor type for the M&W.

i just ordered the 7420 10s. My question is should I run them in all 4 holes or just the bottom two? and the regular 9s up top? I have 383whp 11.2 afr with a hks twin power. I am getting the car ready for a track event on the 14th.

If your going to put 10's at the bottom, then u should put them up top too lol. Trailing should always be at least equal to the leading or colder. Not hotter.

The bottom hole is the leading.

Just put the 10's all around.

What kind of track event? What boost levels?

the amount of noise that non resistor imposes on other sensors is very significant. can throw sensor readings off quite a bit
