What's a decent "Cut to Length" Spark Plug Wire ?

I've got some red magnacores now, but I keep ruining these little bastards

What's a good wire that's made to shorten if needed ?

Check out Moroso's they are not cheap but I have used them in the past and they seem to work really well.

I think you can get them from summit racing

Taylor seems to be the most popular.

Eric buy the taylor v8 10.8 set and you get two for almost the price of one!
If you screw up you have 4 more chances!

I used MSD, since I have MSD coils -- they offer wire, terminals, and boots so you can build your own custom wires. They are also the wires recommended by MSD for their coils.

My first choice would be whatever the coil manufacturer suggests.

What do you guys use to lube up the wires when pushing them through the boots ? I don't know if I'm retarded or if my banana fingers are too big or what........ I ripped one boot in half trying to pull it through

Tried the WD40, Spit and Soap............. The Dish Soap worked the best. What works the best for crimping the end onto the wire ? I can never get the entire wire into the end and when I try crimping it, the wire tries to slide out or cuts into the wire.

MSD makes a tool for $5, I use it to make all my wires. I bought the Taylor 8cyl set from Jegs. One end is already made, I use that end on the plugs and I make the other end myself. It also has an area that allows you to cut the wire but does not go in too deep, no mistakes. You have to use a vise. Excellent tool.

Eric, I think I have a couple of those tools laying around. MSD includes them in every package of cut to fit wires. PM me if you'd like me to send one to ya.

Thanks buddy. We'll see if I need it. I cobbled together my wires so I'll see if it's good enough to get the car started atleast.

I took your advice! No more 4ft wires like you saw at Etown that day!

These are the taylors I ended up getting...

Most boots tend to pop-off because of sealed compression and should be "burped".

Insert a tie-rap end in the boot during the insertion. It will relieve the pressure, then pull the end piece out.
