I have a 500r from Aspec and not too long ago my motor threw an apex seal and shot right into the turbo. I am now running a different turbo and is thinking about selling my blown 500r. I know it needs a rebuild but Sean at Aspec seems to be busy so I was not able to get a rebuild quote from him. I did indeed make 370whp at 11-12psi letting off at 6k rpm. Any idea on how much I should have it listed for sale? All help and opinions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The turbo is not in my possession but at my tuners shop so I dont have any pictures of it.

 

try sending him a pm. he usually responds pretty well to them.

no clue on the price but it wouldn't be anywhere near what you paid for it.

 

Sean was out sick for a few days. Try him again. I have had good service from him when getting these turbos rebuilt.

you cant rebuild BB garrett turbo's, the CHRA needs to be replaced.

 

They can be rebuilt, but not by everyone. Garret has a replacement program. Any garret dealer should be able to get you a replacement cartridge. Also, if its just the exhaust wheel that is damaged, it may be able to be repaired. I had Majestic Turbo fix mine years ago.

 

Yeah I personally know a guy that had his 500r rebuilt by majestic.
