I would have to say r85 from what I read. Not experience with it though, as it is a fairly new turbo.

if you used a 3.5 or 4in dp with any of these turbos would that reduce the lag anybit or what about running two 38mm wastegates?

I would have to confirm that full boost is on by 4300 with the r85. The greatest thing is the way it comes on. Its totally linear, boost starts at 2300 (2-4 lbs) and is linear to 4300. No traction issues, even running 19lbs. I have driven a few t78's and t88's and the power curve was steeper, and in the case of the t88, not streetable. Of course tuning really has to do with alot of that. I really enjoy the r85, but I think I would also love the 40r. Good luck. Drive a few or take some rides before you decide. Everything is somewhat of a compromise.
