What is a 60-1?

I tried googling it and came up with nothing. I assume 60-1 is .60 AR compressor side and 1.0 AR turbine side? I assume its a generic turbo, unlike a 35R which is understood to be a Garrett turbo (the GT3582R BB turbo specifically) .

I'm trying to figure out if it is worth while to modify my hybrid turbo more(take it to a BNR stage 4) and max it out, or find a 60-1 or a 35R with a new manifold, downpipe etc etc...my goal is 350WHP.

60-1 is a compressor housing type. It was/is a very popular turbo for rotary engines in the 350-400hp range. It is sort of old tech though, been around for some time. the GT30 and GT35s are more efficient I think, but dont hold me to that.

Im in the process of trying to upgrade my T04b to a 60-1 compressor.

A 60-1 is a term, specs are 2.324in / 59.0mm.
Same as a TO4B & will flow 63lbs/min good for 425+ on a rotary maxing it out.

Definitely old technology. I ran a turbonetics 60-1 hifi and spool up time wasn't bad but there are definitely better options on the market.

60-1 is a compressor wheel, not a housing.

it's from the older family of T4 turbos, and it flows a lot of air at low boost, so it has worked well for rotary guys for 10+ years now...

it's sized in between the 62-1 and 60-1HIFI (62-1 is bigger, HIFI is smaller)

you can tell the different housings that matches these wheels based on the INLET SIZE

a BNR stage 4 uses a 60-1 hifi compressor, meaning a T04B housing machined to fit a 60-1 wheel (2.75" housing inlet). the 60-1 wheel is meant for a T04S housing, which has 4" inlet

http://www.turbocharged.com/catalog/comp_wheels.html

what would be interesting is machining a T04B housing for 62-1 wheel, has anybody tried that
