Question about T04 60-1 trim
I just traded my T04/S04 with a P trim for a 60-1 with an .84 divided housing with an O trim. This turbo was SUPPOSED to have a P trim on it, so I could swap for the .84 And as soon as I get in touch with the guy I am gonna ask him why. I have a stock motor (87 GTR) and I am wondering what the difference in performance btw the turbo I wanted and the turbo I got would be? Or more or less, the max power from 60-1 with O trim and .84 divided and max from 60-1 P trim with .96 undivided.
Thanks guys hope you can help.

hey paterick, its tom, the guy who's turbo chirs traded for your tso4. i tried calling you, but all i ever get is answering machines. I didnt realize that it was the o trim, and I dont think Chris realized it either. If you would like, I will send you your tso4 back with a money order enclosed to ship back my to4e. Just for the record, I was not the one handling the shipping of the to4e. That was chirs's responsibility since you paypaled him the money instead of me. thats why there was a delay. I am under the impression that you are interested in road racing, and such. If this is the case, and you are running stock ports, I would personally run the smaller exhaust wheel, and the smaller housing for much faster spool. Lag is going to be a killer in rr applications. I know the turbo is in good condiditon, as i only drove it home from the shop and around my neighborhood a few times with the to4 before i went t72. The choice is yours, You can keep the to4e, or we can un do the deal, and I will pay shipping. You may want to do some research before you decide to give up the smaller housing and wheel although. email me with your decisions. kenwoodtom2dvc@aol.com
thanks Tom

Hey Patrick, it's Mike, the guy whom you got the T04S04 from
You should feel the torque of the T-66 - .96 undivided - P-trim working with the bridge port. When will you do that?

Patrick,
I asked this question just recently and was told that the O trim is way too restictive to use on rotaries. My guess is that the power curve will die off very early.
How did you find out it was an O trim. This is the tye of thing that scares me about ordering stuff I'm not very familiar with. I would have no idea what an O trim looks like if it jumped up and bit me. My turbo had to go back twice because it wasn't what I ordered. It is relatively easy to read the side of the housings and measure the comp wheel and so forth, but how does one know if the trim is correct? Does anyone have any pics of what a P trim wheel looks like? How about some others like a Q and O trim?

To answer your other question... I would not go smaller than a .84 exhaust A/R on a rotary, even if you are road racing. The .84 should spool very quickly. Anything smaller and your power band is going to die out too early.
