Question Is 15 psi the same power, 60-1 vs. T04s?

Basically, what I want to know, is if my car is making 400 rwhp with my T04s at 15 psi and I put on a 60-1 and boost the same 15psi, will it still be making 400 rwhp? (obviously with a different powerband) How will my intake temps change?

I read a REALLY good post earlier where a guy wants to know how much pressure loss a 60-1 has through the piping and intercooler. (I have (long) 2.5" IC piping and a big FMIC) If I am boosting 15 psi and there is a 4-5 psi pressure drop, then the compressor is making 20 psi which puts it out of its efficiency range! Ideas?

One thing comes to mind: fix your intercooler setup and you'll make a bunch more power. 4-5 psi of pressure drop is too much. It is costing you power by making the turbo work harder (to make 15 + 5 psi) and thus be more of an exhaust restriction. It will move you around on the compressor map, too, but it is hard to say if it is moving you to a better or worse spot.

I dont know enough about the turbos to say what the effects of the compressor change will be. Outlet temps and exhaust restriction (from turbo working harder/not as hard) are the two things that could change, but I would imagine the exhaust restriction won't vary much.

The 4-5 psi drop was just something I pulled out of my a$$, I have no idea what mine really is. I would be curious to know an average. My throttle response is a little slow so I just figured there was something there. I agree though that 4-5 is too big. I've seen the flow maps for my intercooler and it is 88% efficient with this turbo, so I dont want to change that...

I can't answer your question but maybe I can help. The 60-1 has a 60 mm comp wheel. I believe it also comes standard with a .6 a/r compressor housing. I know the T04S comes with a .7 a/r comp housing but I'm not sure what size wheel it uses. My guess is that they would make about the same HP at 15 psi. The T04S might make a little more but nothing drastic. The big difference would be in the low and midrange. The 60-1 would have a much better power band and would spool a little faster. This is mainly because the 60-1 is designed to operate right around 15 psi and the T04S is designed to operate a little higher (17-20). Does anyone know the specs on the T04S comp wheel?

Why not just run a vac line to the compressor outlet, go for a drive, see what the pressure difference is compared to the vac line connected to your intake. BING you know how much pressure drop you have.

..Because I don't want to drill a hole in my compressor housing. That's a good reason

BTW I am running a TA51 .55 a/r compressor.

OK then,

What kind of backpressure change am I going to see on the turbine side between my T04s 1.15 divided VS. a T04e 1.15 divided (which is what I beleive will come with the 60-1)? My motor is street ported, how will that work with the T04e?

If I were to just keep my T04s turbine what about putting a 60-1 compressor on it? Would it even work?
