turbo size

I'm curious what size turbo would be recommended to run mid or low 12's(with proper fuel and a/f controll and everything else ofcourse) yet not have a ton of turbo lag as it would be a daily driver... if this is even possible... I don't know all the different turbo sizes yet as I'm just recently looking into a TII so any suggestions or info would be great

On a TII, a T04E "57" or "60"... or a T04B "H".... or a T04S (aka 60-1)

Wait... turbo upgrade as in bolting the compressor side to the stock turbine side (aka "compressor upgrade) or a full T4 upgrade (the full T04E turbo)..

How much installation and stuff costs depends on the shop...

You can find T04B's for around $500, T04E's for around $600-700, and T04S's for $700-800.

If you're looking to go cheap, you can use the HKS cast manifold which you can find for $250, and use the standard HKS 40mm wastegate which goes for around $250-300 as well...

Then you also need to have a downpipe made and various other lines and what not...

So all in all, your parts will cost you between $1,500 to $2000. Then you also have to figure in labor costs... And if you don't have the supporting fuel mods and engine management, you also need to factor that in...

I think rebuilds cost around $300-500... Or you can get it rebuilt with an upgraded compressor wheel and housing while still using the stock everything else. Check www.rx7store.net and look under turbo's for 2nd gens.... Look for "87-91 Upgrades".
