Turbo decision

I dont know what to get. In need of new turbo asap. Either the GT42 Non ball bearing OR the GT35R dual ball bearing.

What are your guys' opinions? What RPMS are we talking around 20 psi for each?

Id prefer something for around 450-500 RWHP at bout 17-20 psi and methanol.

what you guys think??? they are both around same price at rx7store.

if you are running methanol you can run higher boost than that. also, look at the to4z and aspec 500r. the 500r is basically a gt35 that flows better on the top end
When i was searching for my 500hp setup i was told even a 4094 was overkill for 500hp if i was going to run meth inj. thats just me $.02

mostly dragracing and highway pulls

basically i wanna get the most horsepower out of same boost level (18-20 + meth)

what is the differance in spool times is a better question?

the gt35 turbos are going to spool way faster then the 42. Also, the to4r is the non ball bearing version of the to4z more or less. If i remember correctly most of the 500hp to4z people were running around 25 pounds of boost and meth. If you are running meth there is no good reason to only want to get a make of 20psi.

Good Mid range turbo.

Edit* Aspec's 500r is almost the same thing though..look into that option, also they have a nice NON BB 35 aka GT3574

Sure there is, its called not having to put a ford 9" rear end in the car so you can apply over 550whp. And 20-25psi for the street is pretty high boost.

Go with the non-ballbearing GT42, mine spools surprisingly fast on a smaller RacingBeat template half-bridge. Starts spooling nicely around ~4200, full boost at 5300.
