turbo burning oil

Hey guys, ive got a s5 t2 with a hybrid turbo. After rebuilding ithe turbo, it continues to leak oil out of that piston ring seal.

Anyone ever have this happen to them? So either my housing is bad or my turbine is no good.

This is the same reason joe blow just can't rebuild an engine. Anyone can replace parts. Its takes someone with the experience and knowledge to look at the rest of th e picture. You're chra, turbine wheel, bearings, or association parts could be worn out. It could be your feed line( too much oil pressure w/o a restrictor for a given size), your return line size and design, crankcase ventilation, or hell maybe there is nothing wrong with your turbo. How do you know its not your engine?

Well, first time i got my turbo rebuilt by a shop. It burned oil, so i put a restrictor on it. It still burned oil.

Then I kept complaining to this turbo shop, they rebuilt it again, but this time wiht a different spare turbo i had sitting on the side. That turbo did not burn oil. It eventually failed because I had used silicone to seal the oil pressure line, and the silicone ended up blocking the hole in the restrictor. So the turbine and the bearings were screwed. No oil burning

I needed my car, its my DD. So I ended up throwing my old turbo on, the one that burned oil.

So I am hoping to find a good turbine wheel. Take the bearing housings off the turbo that didnt burn oil, but change out to good bearings. Old ones were toast from lack of oil.

The oil burns a little after warmup, after its fully warmed, there is no smoke.

I havea map sensor, and I ran my car open header for a while and there was no smoke. So I am darn sure its the turbo
