which turbo?

Hi, I'm looking for a bit more power on my fc with stockports.
Which turbo do you guys mostly use for around 350whp with good response? Looking to run aroun 1 bar.
Choises are :
T04e (57trim); T04S; T04R; GT3574 (from a-spec) or holset WH1E

if your budget is small you will just have to go with an s5 BNR stage 3 or 4 (s5 is more responsive than s4) hybrid. If you can afford a manifold, wastegate, etc go with a T04E or something like the Apexi Rx-6 (probably overpriced though).

Genuine Garrett GT35/40

Also known as gt3582 with 1.06 T3 Rear Single Entry. They are around 1650 USD(trade customer could probably get it cheaper)

Excellent spool, MID RANGE AND LOTS OF IT, 350rwhp is easy to get.

All the turbos above will either not reach your hp power goal not be as responsive as the turbo above.

Reliability?
Install them correctly like most products and you will have no problems.

And havoc, your turbo isnt listed in the above list.

GT3582R would be nice indeed. Also the Borg Warner 362 is a nice piece as well though spools a little slower. Both units can be had under 1200 bucks. The Borg Warner actually is around 900.

You want ball bearing or journal? How much are you looking to spend? Also, what type of manifold are you going to run?

I'm running a Hks log manifold with 40mm wastegate. Just got myself a brand new Holset Wh1E with 19cm A/R. Looks like a good turbo for getting 350whp on stock ports. Is anyone else running them?

WH1e is the one that is internaly waste gated.if so weld the waste gate closed and remove the WG actuator. think its a good choice for 350hp
as long as you have injectors and pump to support it
2a+RoN is running one of those but with a 22cm housing here is his post on that turbo

2a+RoN
I think the 19cm will be just about perfect for a stock port, but if you already have a 16cm you could always just try it and swap it out later if it is not giving you what you are looking for.

I'm only running .6 bar (8.7psi) right now as that's the spring I have in there. I'm limited to that as I'm already out of injector running the 4x 1000cc's I have in there. At my fuel pressure they flow 1100 each and are running 92% duty cycle (their limit at 8k rpm) at a lambda of .81 (afr around 11.9). I haven't been to a dyno yet, but based on a conservative bsfc I should be between 460 and 496 flywheel which would put me around 370-400whp. It seems impossible to be making that kind of power at that pressure, but the car really does feel that fast... I'm working on adding in 2 more 1000's and should have plenty of injector until I decide I want to go E85..

Holset housing size - Garrett approximate equivalent

9cm^2 - .48 A/R
12cm^2 - .63 A/R
16cm^2 - .83 A/R
18cm^2 - 1.00 A/R
22cm^2 - 1.15 A/R

so 19cm would be in the 1.03 to 1.05 A/R

Well, it had the 19cm housing with internal wastegate but now it will have a garrett 1.00 A/R divided turbine housing with 3.5" outlet Should do fine don't you think.
Also running 96 fd3s power fc, 280lph sard fuel pump and fpr and super now fuel rails with 550cc primary and 1680cc secundary injectors.

i dont know if you can just swap the turbine housing to a garret type but holset offers bigger turbine housings but cant remember the site off my head right now
but your fuel setup is good i think you can test the car on the same turbine housing since it is a t4 just weld the flap shut and your done happy boosting

Garrett GT series turbos are very reliable as long as you don't send an apex seal through them.
