Ok here is somthing that will make you guys find it ok to run the peripheral port at such low boost, the car it is going into is a first gen with a 302 in it, he is going to keep the 302 in it, or will go with the peripheral port. I see your guys point that it is a waste of a peripheral port because you could make the same power with a streetport running higher boost, but it won't have as much as a "neat" factor lol

Also, you WILL be able to produce 17psi of boost on a PP, just that a PP will show more accurately the boost actually going inside the engine, as opposed to a street port, which is manifold boost (the port acts like a pressure nozzle).
have you ever heard of pascalls law? it says that pressure in a configned area is always the same regardless of shape, what makes you think the presssure in the manifold differs to that entering the port. I could understand if you were talking about vacume as that can differ in a configned area, but cant see how pressure does, if you could explain your reasons for saying this i would appreciate it. as sometimes people take to literally what others say when in fact it could be wrong

savana, i think what shm21284 is talking about is volume, the same pressure through two different sized holes will yeild a different volume of air, and that is what makes the power.

na, mass is what makes the power. volume is the same, reguardless of pressure.
