I'm looking into the to4 series turbo and the Z interests me. Any owners. Imput is much needed! I'm also thinking about intercoolers and radioators as well.

Its the same as a T04r only bb(i believe spools 500rpm sooner?) and a lot more expensive, it also wont last as long.

Why wont it last as long? Is it because its a ball bearing turbo? Or some other reason?

My first FD was running a Garrett T04Z turbo, superb turbo, developed 450@wheels at 1.3 BAR on a dyno dynamics rolling road, spooled really quick. I have a second FD now with a T04R not as responsive, how I miss my T04Z the boost response was superb!! plus I notice my AIT was lower as well

Save yourself some money and get a hold of A-Spec tuning. They can get you a 500R turbo setup that will spool faster than a T04Z and still produce the same or better numbers. Plus it will wind up being less expensive than buying a T04Z from HKS. Last time I checked those turbos were ungodly expensive. Just my .02

What was the price on the Garrett version? I was under the impression that you couldn't get a T04Z anywhere else but HKS. Thanks for the info.

I'm also running the Garrett branded T04Z bought from Aus (with a 1.00 a/r exhaust)

These links should give you an idea of how much they are for the turbo alone

bear in mind, that's aussie dollars not US
